What Does The Mysterious Roy G Biv Reveal About Ahavah?

Is it perhaps an emerald green like the color of the rainbow around our Heavenly Fathers Throne?

Or could it be blue

like the firmament of the heavens..?

the same as the color of a sapphire?

Here is a very curious find…

“Skystone” or “Stone of Heaven” is an odd type of blue stone and was discovered during archeological excavations in Sierra Leone, West Africa.

Angelo Pitoni, the archeologist who found the stone,

was puzzled by its appearance, so he sent it to be investigated by laboratories of the University of Geneva and according to analysis.

A piece of Sky Stone being prepared for cutting.

An amazing ,77.17% of the stone, is somehow made of pure OXYGEN, yet harder than diamond, unnatural to earth and has strong carbon and silica (glass) in it! The remaining percentage was divided between carbon, silicon, calcium and sodium.

Sky-Stone-Analysis

The composition makes the “Sky Stone” similar to a kind of concrete or stucco, and seems to have been artificially colored.

The natives living in the area where the stone was found, already knew about its existence because this stone-like artifact used to pop out during the digging in the area.

Another mystery related to the stone of heaven is that this artifact is always found in soil layers dating to at least 12000 BC.

Could the sky stone be part of the firmament ?

Or is this like that which Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu and the 70 elders saw in Ex. 24:9-10 (NASB)?

Or is the color of

maybe gold

like the sea of glass – the purest transparent gold that the streets of heaven are made of?

God is love (1 John 4:8), the very nature of the Creator is under scrutiny when love is considered…

We are used to hearing the definition of Love in Greek which has many different words to describe various types of love. Some say 3, some 6 and others 8.

In ancient Greek, the three words for love with which we are more familiar: eros, philia, and agape.

Eros: The first kind of love was named after the Greek god of fertility, it represented the idea of, a physical love, passion and desire between husband and wife. the root word is found in erotic. The Modern Greek word ” erotas ” means “(romantic) love.

Philia/Philos, as in ‘brotherly’ love, The love between two members of the family, love of Mankind, broader human relationships, or deep friendship; the root word is found in ‘ Philadelphia’.

Agape, a really high relationship with the Godhead, the love of God for Man; or love for everyone. As a verb Agapo means “I love”; Agapetos means “beloved.”

the next 3 are:

Ludus, or playful love.

Philautia, or love of the self.

Pragma, or longstanding love.

The other 2 are:

Storge, Affection, as in love for babies children, pets.

Mania, a combination of Eros and Ludus: Obsessive, troubled, intense, madness.

In English we have a number of words for love: fondness, adoration, cherishing, etc.

Ahava (Ah-ha-vah) is the Hebrew word for love.

Hebrew was not just created by God, but it is the language through which He spoke in creating the world.

Much wisdom is attributed to the words and letters in the Hebrew language and understanding the concepts that are incorporated in words can help us in our own lives.

Hebrew is a living language, a language of the heart/lev and it is a power-filled force that helps us better know the Bible and it’s author.  Each Hebrew letter is a sign, a symbol, a sound, and a number; and maybe even a color?  By digging into the depths of the original language of the Bible we can better grasp its message.

The word “love” which is thrown about so freely in English that everyone uses for everything has a special meaning in Hebrew.

Love or “ahavah” in the Hebraic mind is very different in today’s culture. In the Hebrew, love is connected directly with action and obedience.

Strong’s Exhaustive Dictionary defines ahavah as “to have affection, sexually or otherwise, love, like, to befriend, to be intimate.”

Hebraically ahavah is a verb and a noun, it is an act of doing. Ahava is not just a feeling.

It brings to mind the idea of longing for or breathing for another.

To get a clear understanding of ahavah, let’s examine the Hebrew word itself and learn what it means to love Hebraically.

Most Hebrew words can be broken down to a three-consonant root word that contains the essence of the word’s meaning.

Love in Hebrew is “Ahavah” , which is made up of three basic Hebrew letters,

These three letters actually are broken down into two parts: a two letter base or root,

and the first letter,

which is a modifier.

The root word of ahavah is “ahav.”

The term ahav in Hebrew means, “to give.”

The Hebrew word “ahavah” is spelled

“aleph, hei, bet, hei.”

The root word ahav is spelled “aleph, hei, bet.”

These Hebrew letters reveal a secret of love hidden for thousands of years. This secret is exposed through the meaning behind each Hebrew letter in “ahav.”

Hebrew is read from right to right to left.  The first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is also the first letter in “ahav.”

This is the aleph.

The first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is also the first letter in “ahav.” This is the aleph this letter has the numerical value of one. Aleph symbolizes the one and only Eternal God. In Revelation 22:13,  Jesus/Yeshua called Himself the Aleph and the Tav. Aleph is a picture of God our Father and His creation. There is one Father Creator.

God our Father – Abba/Avinu

Jesus/Yeshua said that this is the number one commandment in Matt.22:37-39. The first of all commandments is, Shema O Yisra’el; the Master /God is our Father. God our Abba/Avinu is Echad: and you shall ahava (love) the Master/ God our Father with all your lev (heart), and with all your being, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like it; You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There are no other commandments greater than these,” Mark 12:29-31.

Ahavah starts with Aleph. Real ahavah starts with loving God our Father first. Then, as a person has a relationship with God our Father, we can love our neighbor properly.

The next letter of ahav is the “hei.” The letter “hei” is the fifth letter of the aleph-bet. Five is the number of chesed/grace and highly symbolic.

There are five books of the Torah, five fingers on the hand, and King David gathered five smooth stones to kill Goliath. It is through grace or chesed that God our Abba/Avinu loves us. Mankind loves God our Father back through the fifth letter hei. How? Ahavah is shown to Abba/Avinu through hei – through the five books of the Torah. “If you love me, obey my mitzvoth / commandments. If a man loves Me, he will guard My words, and My Abba/Avinu will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our stay with Him,” said Y’shua in John 14:15, 23.

The hei is the means that a person expresses ahavah. You love and give to God our Abba/Avinu by your actions of obedience.

The form of the letter hei, the number five shows how to correctly love Abba/Avinu and man. The three lines of hei are a picture of loving Abba/Avinu with thought, deed, and words. The top horizontal line is the realm of thought. A person’s thoughts should be focused upward on Abba/Avinu and His word. The vertical line to the right is speech. From the abundance of the heart/mind/horizontal line, the mouth speaks because speech comes directly from thought.

The unattached line to the left is deed. Though actions should be connected to our intentions, they often are not. “There are many plans in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of Abba/Avinu shall stand,” Mishlei / Proverbs 19:21.

Man is to unite the three lines through devotion and service. Loving Abba/Avinu with thoughts, words, and deeds is the goal of the hei.

The Beit is the second letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It is the third letter in “ahav.”

(B is also V in Hebrew.)

This letter vividly demonstrates the purpose of all creation. How? Beit is a picture of a house. Abba/Avinu created the world to be a dwelling place in this world below.

The first letter in the Torah is a beit, found in the word Beresheet, Genesis.

The tabernacle was made to create a bayit, or a house, for Abba/Avinu. “Know you not that you are the temple of Abba/Avinu, and that the Spirit of Abba/Avinu dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16.

The objective of loving Abba/Avinu is to be conformed to His image and represent Him to the world. The two are to walk together.

Beit, is also the number two.

Abba/Avinu plus His servant equals two. Yet in the beit, the two shall become one. Y’shua said, “For where two, or three will assemble together in My Name, there am I in the midst of them,” Matthew 18:20. Ahava starts with loving Abba/Avinu first and foremost through word, deed, and thought.

This type of ahavah creates a house for Abba/Avinu to inhabit. We make a dwelling place or house for Abba/Avinu when we show love by giving to others.

In review, the Hebrew root word for love is “ahav,” spelled “aleph, hei, bet.” The aleph reminds us that we are to love Abba/Avinu first. Hei shows us to express that love by conforming our thoughts, words, and deeds to the five books of the Torah. When love is directed first to Abba/Avinu, then a beit, a house, is built to sustain His presence.

The meaning of the two letter base, is “to give”. The letter “aleph” , which precedes these two letters comes to modify the meaning of the base word, “give”. The meaning of, is “I give” and also “love”.

We now see the connection between the two words, “I give” and “love”. Love is giving. Not only is love giving, but the actual process of giving develops the very connection between the giver and the receiver. The more giving that one does, the greater is the connection.

This, is hebrew thought.

The process of giving is a vehicle through which the giver through his act of giving is able to, through a physical gift  give of himself to another. This act of giving something is not merely helping another but is much more than that. Giving enables us to make a connection to another. When we give to another, that which we give to him/her, could have been utilize to further our own self. Instead, we choose to take that which could have been used for our own needs and instead, use it for someone else.

True ahavah, true love, is more concerned about giving than receiving.

Giving is a condition that creates and sustains love. With out giving, there is no connection that is sustaining.  Giving is the vehicle of love. God so loved the world that He GAVE His only Son.

Love may focus on receiving, but ahavah is all about giving.

Is RED the color of love – from the sacrificial death of Messiah and the Blood that was shed for us? Matt. 26:28.

The true relationships that our meaningful in our lives are those in which mutual giving takes place. The giving may be physical, emotional, intellectual or a combination. Without giving from ourselves, no relationship can be enduring.

That is the secret of love that is revealed to us in the Hebrew language placed within by it’s Creator.

However, love is more than just a word, rather than an emotion, it involves action, in Israel, love is also a way of life!  It is not something that happens “to you” but a condition that you create when you give.

In Hebrew: דודים ,חיבוב ,רחמים ,אהבה, are some words having to do with love.

(The word דודים is sometimes a plural noun; but it also means love, as in Ezekiel 16:8.)

Because in the Hebrew language there aren’t any exact synonyms, each of the apparent synonyms for אהבה, ahava, will point to a slightly different aspect of love.

(The noun for love is ahavah.)

אהבה is the most general word for love, which is used to express all kinds of love and affection, from deep love, to just liking someone or something.

אהב aheb to love (verb) = ah-HAHV is usually translated with to love, but it rather means to be attracted to ,or to be attached to, and that in a rather mechanical way like a magnet to a nail.

It’s used to describe a parent’s attachment to a child,

“you love you” doesn’t make much sense, but it would be:

to a female = at ohevet et atsmekh

to a male = atah ohev et atsmekha

if you are male, your love = ahava shelkha

if you are female, your love = ahava shelakh

The obvious antithesis of this verb is שנא – sane – which means, to hate, and which is identical to the verb that means, to sleep. Sleeping in the Bible is often used in the sense of being inattentive or aloof (Matthew 26:40), which suggests that our verb אהב (aheb) primarily has to do with being attentive and intimate.

דודים is used for love such as that of newlyweds.

חיבוב is close to “cherish.”

רחמים is for a gut-feeling, such as the love of a guardian.

חסד is a verb –  hasad – and is the reason why we see curious words like “loving kindness” or “faithful love” in the Bible.
It appears to have originated as a word that expressed a kind of economic and emotional loyalty among relatives or friends or neighbors, but it appears to have moved into legal jargon as the verb that describes a formal contract or covenant.

In our world the word, contract brings to mind being bound by a law, that when broken will land you in jail. The Hebrew word חסד (hasad),  has primarily to do with human decency and allegiance.

רחם

The verb רחם raham – expresses a kind of devotional love that usually goes one way: from a caregiver to the receiver of this care.

It’s often used to describe a parent’s devotion to a child, and subsequently also God’s devotion to mankind.

The Fathers Love is expressed in the 1st covenant was sealed with Noah after the flood and God pointed out to him the rainbow in the heavens which was not before the flood for it had never rained.

For Noah it would serve as a reminder to Him of God’s covenant promises and salvation from the judgment on sin.

If we had never seen one, how would we know what it was – how would someone describe it to you know without tv, the internet or Hollywood to animate it?

Then suddenly came the deluge.

The whole eco system was changed forever after the windows of heaven were opened and the fountains of the deep were broken up.

Note of interest…

They apparently have found an ocean beneath the ocean!! how they know that is in itself a mystery!

https://www.iflscience.com/environment/huge-underground-ocean-discovered-towards-earths-core/

https://www.livescience.com/1312-huge-ocean-discovered-earth.html

https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg23231014-700-deepest-water-found-1000km-down-a-third-of-way-to-earths-core/

The sky above the firmament may have had more of a solid structure like that of ice – frozen precipitation. It’s apparently cold out in space. Just as altitude affects temperature and there is a clear snow line on mountains, with snow on the highest peaks all year round. The higher one goes the colder it gets.

The windows of heaven opening were maybe a way of meaning, the ice is melting and its going to fall to earth.

Water always finds the lowest point flowing down. The amount of precipitation condensed moisture we call rain, is determined by the clouds that form as the earth heats up from the suns rays. The moisture rises as we know heat always rises, and it’s the same principle for how a hot air ballon functions.

The moisture evaporates and condensation, rises up and then hits the cold air in the upper atmosphere and it is transformed into what we see as clouds. The more moisture in the clouds the darker they become in color.

When they become over saturated and too heavy to float, the moisture they contain falls to earth as rain or snow. Friction within the cloud gives rise to lightning which precedes the rain falling harder and faster. Thunder is simply the sound of that electric lightning bolt of energy and we see it before we hear it, because light waves travel faster than sound waves. However this is not a science /physics lesson, although God is the perfect scientist/physics master and man is only at the tip of comprehending all He has created and understanding how His creation functions.

The point of the pre-ramble is to highlight the rainbow, which had probably never been seen prior to the flood, for according to scripture, there was no rain..

Genesis 2:5–6 states that “the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up  a mist…

So therefore probably no clouds  however, they may have seen the mist. Gen. 2:8

No Rain? Crazy you may say?

There are desert places today that never see any measurable rainfall so its not impossible.

As a covenant reminder it’s’ His token of love that is perpetual and everlasting in Jesus/Yeshua. The ultimate representation of divine and unconditional love for us.

So as a covenant sign what color is love?

Is it the emerald rainbow described as being around His throne as described in Revelation?

The colors of the rainbow are Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, (blue-purple) and Violet (red-purple).

An Acronym for the rainbow colors is ROY G BIV – it sounds like the name of a person and makes it easy to remember the order in which we see them.

Through that ‘mysterious name’ we will have the secret color of ahavah revealed to us.

Is it red?

The color of Messiah Jesus/Yeshua’s blood?

The color of the sacrifice that paid for our redemption and forgiveness before we even knew we needed it and certainly did not deserve i?

Orange, golden for the harvest of the first fruit and the gold of the tabernacle furniture together with the mercy seat that speaks of our salvation?

Yellow the color of the sun/son the brightness of His glory. The light beams that come forth from His hands the hiding place of His power. The color of spring, new life, resurrection and the season of First Fruits?

Is it Green, the color of the green pastures that He leads us to lie down in, His true Shalom? The tranquility and safety of our beloved great shepherd over His sheep.

Or Blue? The color of the heavens and all it promises us as it beckons to our longing hearts. The color of the sea that speaks of humanity and the only One who can reconcile the two back from our broken fellowship and so healing the relationship.

Is Love Indigo? A blue-purple for royalty, of the King of kings and Lord of lords. The ONE/ECHAD, who stepped down into darkness that we should see a great light and turn from our wicked ways and seek His face.

Or could it be Violet? A red-purple of the high priestly garment that He indeed is the propitiation for our sins the only go between that intercedes for us before the Fathers throne. The High Priest of the confession of our faith, of love, that not only ministered in the place of the sacrifice but actually became it.

Is Love White? The color of the high priests garment worn on the most Holy day and representing the robe of righteousness that we are clothed in as our garment of salvation; washed in the blood and cleansed white as snow. The brides adornment and the wedding guests required attire.

Or is it black? As He reminds us of the hidden riches of darkness;

and that He was in the the thick dark cloud

leading and guiding and protecting.

Or is Love gold? A hue of orange, the purest element known. So pure that Heavens streets are made of it; it does not rust nor corrode. In its’ most purest form, with all the dross removed, it’s transparent; so there is nothing hidden from or obscured – it is pure, like His love.

There is a cyclical element to the color wheel and the numbers are significant

3 primary colors red Yellow and Blue

3 secondary colors orange green and purple (indigo violet)

red + yellow = orange

yellow + blue= green

blue + red= purple

However there are 7 colors in the rainbow –

7 has the meaning of spiritual perfection.

The position in the rainbow shows the secondary color between the primaries that mix to produce it and explains the indigo-violet as each color is next to the one it contains more of; i.e. the blue-purple sits next to blue and the violet next to the red.

These are the colors that are in the visible spectrum of light that our human eyes can identify. There are other spectrums e.g. infra red and black light and that we cannot see with the naked eye but we can see them with the help of technology. There are x rays, gamma rays, and radiation light waves, that we call the aurora borealis.

It’s all a form of energy and helps in describing that God is light.

God   IS…. His covenant sign.

He IS light…

…and John says He is love and He is Light –

so what color is love???

The symbol has been highjacked and used by other groups over the years but interestingly, one of them is not the same rainbow as it only has 6 colors and not seven; and six is the number of man!

The 7 colors can be connected to the 7 feasts,

and also linked to the 12 tribes...and 12 months

 So what color is love???

The way we see all 7 of the rainbow colors is because the beam of white light passes through water droplets and is split or divided into its base elemental light frequencies.

Seen here passing through a prism is the same as the process when light passes through water droplets in the sky forming the rainbow. We know the significance of water = the word of God and that God is light and that there are 7 spirits of God; could they also be represented by the colors?

The diagram above shows the different spectral light and wave forms of light now the atmosphere had changed as the water in the firmament above could not be put back.

So if the white light = God, positioned before the prism…

God is light – God is love and is therefore = to 7 colors after passing through the prism –

So here’s the answer to our question – what color is Love?

It’s all of them!

Ahavah/Love is all the colors rolled into one because God is One –

Echad;

and so love is also the source – white light – so bright it’s almost blinding.

– and the seven rainbow colors passing through the water of His Word was in Yeshua, the Word made flesh.

It is the sign of His covenant of LOVE in the heavens.

It’s a reminder of His Love in the 7 appointed times and that He is coming back to manifest the heavenly, royal, priestly colors of blue, indigo and violet to fulfill the covenant.

The frequencies that our human eyes can see tells us of His Love and of His seven spirits here to minister to our needs as Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh in 7 colors of Love; all contained within the purest light of righteousness, (white). The white of the robes of His righteousness that He places around us.

The rainbow reminds us of His glory (gold) and His grace, (we come from dark to light, black to white); and because every color of the palette comes from 3 original primaries, with white or black added for hues, shades and tints. He is in every part of His creation and His love shows in every color we see.

Each color is visible because it’s the only 1 of the 7 that is not absorbed by the object that is the visible light. Light is a frequency and travels in waves like the movement of water in the sea. Light apparently travels at 186,000 miles per second, too fast to be followed but we see the result.

When we humbly receive His Light – His visual AHAVAH – it changes us and we are never the same again. No one can remain the same once they have been in the light/love of His presence.

God is light and He must by this understanding, also have frequency as part of His existence, His being. It follows then, that in some measure, as we are His children we are therefore children/beings of that same light.

Eph.5:8. We must walk and

His light was the light of men. While I am with you I am the light of the world You (We) are now the light of the world.

To  recall the simple and innocent saying as a child, this little light of mine… It really is pertinent, we really do need to shine brightly. Let the AHAVAH colors of His covenant shine out through us; as His pure white light shines on us and passes through the Word dwelling in us, emitting the 7 colors and radiating to those in the world around us, the seven spirits of His Ah-HA-VAH.

What color is Ahava???

ALL  – ONE  – ECHAD

– ALL –  LIGHT

ALL – LOVE

One day soon no other source of light will be needed for He Himself will be the light. Rev.22:5.

Next time there is a rainbow (ke-shet) in the sky – see ALL the colors of the Father’s Ahavah covenant over our lives.

חֲנֻכָּה

Chanukah/Chanukkah /Hannukkah/Hanukkah

This coming week is

חֲנֻכָּה

which begins 24 Kislev 5777 and lasts 8 days.

It is not a biblically-commanded feast/ appointed time of the Lord. (Leviticus 23.)

However it has become a permanent fixture on the calendar; maybe it is partly because there is a distinct lack of annual appointment times during the almost 6 months which include winter and also due to the fact that it falls during the annual Christmas season and people have come to associate it with a Jewish alternative of the western Christmas celebration.

For the Hebrew Israelites/ Jewish people, wintertime is a season that is supposed to be a time of preparation and a kind of dormancy period (like a hibernation) which stands between the end of Israel’s year in the autumn/fall and it’s new beginning in the spring time when the annual cycle of God’s appointed times begins again.

In fact it is not mentioned anywhere in the scriptures of the Old Testament/ Torah. Which is an interesting point, however, it is mentioned in the New Testament

The one place it is mentioned is in connection with Messiah/Jesus when he was in Jerusalem walking in the temple and could indicate that He was celebrating the remembrance or could indicate that He at least acknowledged it’s significance.

John 10:22-23

“Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.”

This begs the question. Why do Jewish people who do not believe in Jesus Christ as Messiah or acknowledge the new testament/ covenant as Any kind of divine Record of truth, celebrate the season of Hanukkah?

Historically it is a factual incident which took place between the years that ended the old testament Records and when the New Testament Records begin approximately 150 years before Messiah/Jesus was born.

The event that precipitated the Chanukah commemoration occurred around 168 B.C. Jerusalem had been conquered and the Holy Temple had been defiled by Antiochus Epiphanes IV and his Syrian army.

Antiochus IV Epiphanes was a Hellenistic Greek king of the Seleucid Empire from 175 BC.

Thousands of Jews had been slaughtered and Antiochus had set up an idol in the Temple, declaring himself to be god. His coup de grâce was sacrificing a pig on the altar.

Hanukkah also known as the festival of lights begins each year on the 25th day of the nine months Kislev according to the Jewish calendar which usually corresponds to the month of December.

Hasmonian Period (166-63 BCE)

It is based on historical events Hanukkah means the feast of dedication and commemorates the victory of Judah Maccabee (which means “hammer”) and the group of Israelites who became freedom fighters against the Greco- Syrian oppressors during the second century BC. Israel’s temple was defiled by pagan sacrifices during the course of foreign occupation.

These brave men who came to be known as the Maccabees retook Jerusalem from the invaders, the first act was to purify cleanse and rededicate the temple and this is the root of the eight day annual celebration and remembrance.

Restoring the Eternal Light

“…command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually. …It shall be a statute forever to their generations…” Exodus 27:20-21

The Temple Menorah needed the oil to keep the flames alight and hence the 9 branch Menorah, called a chanukiah, is lit during the week one for each night + the servant candle the tallest central candle.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/chanukah-or-hanukkah/

Within the framework of historical events the rabbis enhanced the legend of the miraculous eight date burning of a single days supply of oil which is commonly taught and universally accepted explanation of the meaning and the purpose of Hanukkah.

This is all recorded in the Talmud tracate Shabbat 21b. The events referred to here are all verified by historical sources, except the miracle of the enduring holy oil.

So it may have happened but It may not?

The real story of Hanukkah is recorded in the ancient Jewish writings 1 and 2 Maccabees which is part of the inter-testamental manuscripts catalogue among the infamous Apocrypha.

The Apocrypha, which is a collection of writings included in the Septuagint which is the Jewish translation of the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek. It is also contained in the Latin Vulgate and was originally part of the King James Bible however many Jews and Protestant Christians do not consider the books of the apocrypha to be divinely inspired note to carry the weight of scriptural authority.

However, although 1 and 2 Maccabees are included in the apocrypha, it’s not the canon of Hebrew Scriptures but are nevertheless considered authoritative accounts as accurate historical documents.

The real story of Hanukkah is the story of turmoil and upheaval to the nation of Israel. It is a record of the attempted simulation of the Jewish people and the anti-Semitic spirit set against them. It is a story of sin and corruption; oppression and persecution; freedom and ultimately victory.

The heroes of Hanukkah were not motivated by loveless legalism or a misplaced religious fervor but by an overwhelming zeal for the one true God and it is a rallying cry for all who have dedicated their lives to serve the Messiah every single day of our lives and not just for one week of the year.

At the heart of this story is the account of Gods people experiencing assimilation, oppression, conviction, self-sacrifice victory and above all dedication.

Why is this relevant to Christians?

The Temple had to be restored before Messiah Yeshua could come. He acknowledged this holiday as we read in the new testament scriptures, where He rebuked the leading Jewish authorities for non-biblical aberrations.

John 10:24 was the opening description of a discourse by Jesus the Messiah, just before He was to reveal that it is His works that bear witness of who He really is. Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, ‘How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.’

Few realize that this took place during the Chanukah celebration in Jerusalem. It was here in the Temple, more than 150 years earlier, that an event had taken place that was essential for Jesus to come, for it restored the Temple and Jerusalem to Israel.

Therefore, it is easy to understand why Messiah would share in the celebration even though it is not one of the commanded biblically appointed times of the LORD from Leviticus 23.

There is also a teaching that links CHanukkah with the end times and the coming of antichrist.

It behooves us all to remember the real reason for the season amid the frenzy of parties, food, drink and gifts.

This year, when we see the familiar Christmas lights let’s remember Messiah is the True light of the world and remind ourselves that we are to be the light shining into the world. Instead of miracles and merriment the father is longing for His people to return wholeheartedly to Him.

The light of the fire of His love still blazes in His heart and true shalom – peace on earth and goodwill towards men; will maintain its original and prophetic meaning for all those who will believe and receive His miracle gift of salvation in Messiah Yeshua/Jesus of whom the central servant candle the Shamash is a representation.

The Shamash reminds us that we are servants of the LORD Most High. We are privileged to carry His Name, His Light before men, bringing that light into a dark and wicked world. Just as the few men who stood for God against an evil generation.

Chanukah Blessing to the LORD as We Light the Candles

Some words to remember and focus on during this season:

Return, Restoration, Rejoice, Thankfulness, Grateful hearts, Victory, Light of the World and Servanthood.

Light is sown for the righteous and joy for the upright in heart. Ps 97:11

Extra helping –

the hidden mystery –

a blueprint for the last days revealed in The season of Hanukkah – dedication or rededication – has the most amazing and specific revelation of end times ever given by the Father.

In scripture there are some things relating to end times in the feast of trumpets and the feast of tabernacles. However Hanukkah holds the most exact precise revelation of what is going to take place and also the strategy of how to overcome in those days.

Daniel prophesied of these times in the old testament saying in chp.12:7; concerning the length of the time; of the temple desecration and oppression by Antiochus. He said it will be for a time, times and half a time, which represents 3 ½ years. He further speaks prophetically in Dan 9:26 about the prince that will come and make a covenant for a week and in the middle of the week will break it middle of 7 is 3 ½.

We read how apparently Messiah celebrated the feast of dedication/Hanukkah in the new testament.

(This is a great witnessing scripture to the Jewish people concerning Messiah.)

Without Hanukkah there would be no Christmas – because without Hanukkah the faith of Israel would have been wiped out; including all the family line through whom Messiah was born.

Rev 11:1, 2 also refers to the gentiles; a time line of 42 months, which is also 3 ½ years. Rev 12:6 also refers to this Hanukkah number of 1,260 days which also = 3 ½ years..

The abomination of desolation was spoken of when the pig was sacrificed in the Temple, which was the reason there had to be a Hanukkah – a rededication.

Also in reference to Messiahs words in Matt 24:15, when you see standing in the holy place the abomination of desolation…..

(when we don’t understand the roots of some of these events, then we miss the truth behind that reference.)

All Jewish people know of these times because it’s a part of their history and it did not require further explanation when Messiah spoke of it, they understood. What He was declaring was that, what happened in Daniel, will happen again, as written in the book of Revelation, so its not a case of ‘either/or’, but both.

By saying this Messiah also seems to give a clear timeline that this will happen before He returns.

The one world system and Israel along with gentile believers will not fit in to the new world order of the antichrist and the beast system. So there will be yet another attempt to destroy all God’s people through persecution.

Hanukkah is a reflection of what is occurring today and also gives a strategy of how to overcome in the end times. The spirit of the antichrist is already working towards requiring worship of the replacement ‘god’.

Eph 2:2. according to the will of the prince of the power of this air, the spirit that now works in the sons of disobedience,

As believers we too must turn away from compromise of the world and go to the Father by re dedicating our lives, take time to fast and pray and as we do, Father will give us the steps to take.

If the light of God is not shining through us – darkness will encroach.

The 1st important message of Hanukkah is for the believers and clearly the Word states that the antichrist will not come except there is a falling away, an apostasy.

2 Thess 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

the changed or altered kingdom in hebrew Strong’s Hebrew: 8132. שָׁנָא (shana or shanah) — to change Phonetic Spelling: shaw-naw

לְהַשְׁנָיָה֙

Change denotes the transition that occurs between one state to another.

ə-haš-nā-yāh to change (strongs 8133) אשְׁנָ Phonetic Spelling: (shen-aw’)

Strong’s Hebrew: 8138. שָׁנָה (shanah) — to repeat, do again

This word meaning, changed, or altered kingdom, used in the Hebrew, Daniel 7:25, described what Antiochus put in place, is the same meaning referring to antichrist, who will also initiate a changed or altered kingdom, perverted, different or unnatural order; over which he can rule, pushing his agenda of the one world system.

He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time. He will defy the Most High and oppress the holy people of the Most High.

Daniel 7:25,

Apostasy, means; to depart from revealed truth, to lead away, seduce, mislead; to defect, to blind the eyes of the people by manipulating the truth; to turn one from the truth. It speaks of a culture that once knew God and has compromised their faith, which is self evident in their lifestyle.

Congruent with a general falling away from the purity of the faith; and a tolerance for things that are against the Bible. People who are wanting a ‘new god’. It’s a rejection of the true God/Christ Messiah, and is the spirit of anti-Christ and it could not be manifest until Christ had actually come because it’s against Christ. So in that respect that spirit has only been working the last 2000 years.

Since the days of Acts until now, there has never been such a strong joining together of Israel and Christian believers.

The One New Man of Eph. 14-16.

Christ Our Peace – For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken … in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,

The name Antiochus Epiphanes; Epiphanes means. ‘god manifest’ and it is said he created the statue of Zeus to look like him. This reminds us of the image of the beast as being the same as that of end times and that he was changing and redefining things that are biblically based in society. Making himself as being god, reigning supreme over everything, so that he can do whatever he wants making new laws with no oversight or restriction.

The Zeus legend tells that Zeus took on the form of a bull and carried away a woman called Europa and it is where we get our word Europe from. Here is the representation of end time; the woman on the beast. Rev 17:5 The people of the revived roman empire which turned away from the God they once knew and worshipped. The Europe symbol of today is a woman riding a bull…

Hanukkah and the antichrist is repeating the slow change in society where people begin to call evil good and good evil. Antiochus declared the word of God illegal.

Assembly Bill 2943  in the California legislature intended to ban gay conversion therapy is also worded so that it could be used to ban books such as the Bible. The law has just passed the state Assembly with bipartisan support, and Gov. Jerry Brown is expected to sign it into law. 4/20/2018

No, not fake news. Here is the actual Bill and it has already passed the general assembly

The bill is aimed at the sale of goods that would encourage sexual identity change therapy. If taken to its logical conclusion, this would ban the sale of Bibles because of passages like Romans 1.

Here is the type of the remnant and the blueprint for victory.

The family of the Maccabees represent the believers who stand against the antichrist spirit and have the victory.

Hanukkah the blueprint of end-times.

1 They decided no compromise, mentally drew a line in the sand, in effect saying, from now on I’m not playing around any more. Not I’ll do it sometime later when I’m not so busy! The challenge of Hanukkah is become what you are called to be NOW.

2 They didn’t care that they were the minority; they were with God and He is bigger than any problematic situation so don’t believe the circumstances cannot be changed, they can.

3 They went against the spirit of the times. They bent their life and circumstances to fit the word of God not the other away around, by bending the Word of God to their desires. They chose not to be like, to resemble in fashion or behave like the world around them.

4 They separated themselves and prepared to engage the enemy. We too are to be separate, yet impact the world around us.

5 They become warriors and turned whatever the enemy sent back against him. Eph. 6:12-16.

And finally they carried on the war joyfully. In Maccabees we read they declared, god has chosen us to do this, and they did it even after the discouragement. Neh. 8:10 and also David encouraged himself. 1sam 30:6.

They lived by and fought by the Word. They knew their God and resisted and they cleansed the Temple’…

‘but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Daniel 11:32b

Messiah will come and cleanse this world and bring everything back to the Father.

We are to be the….

those who smash the works of darkness.

Lights in the darkness is the symbol of the Hanukkah menorah .

End time Israel’s symbol is not so much the star of David but rather the menorah light and it is indicative of an active agent in the world.

Us!

The sum of the Hanukkah message is – God wins and if we are with God, we will always be on the winning side.

Shalom to every reader as we celebrate the light of the world.

A Mystery – How Messiah Takes Blue And Red Threads To Make Purple People.

There is not one insignificant detail from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21.  Everything in scripture tells us something about Messiah. Hebrew is a pictograph language (picture writing), so colors also have meaning and a significant role in the text.

Because everything is connected – links are provided to previous posts that give more detail on the various areas mentioned in this one.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/ancient-pictographic-hebrew-language/

From the High Priest’s garments to the furnishings, coverings, curtains, implements; everything in the colors of the Mishkan /Tabernacle of Moses, was designed according to God’s exact specifications given to Moses on Mt. Sinai.

The instructions for the color of the veils or curtains in the Tabernacle were to be blue, purple and red or scarlet.

Exodus 26:1
“Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine woven linen and blue, purple, and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim you shall weave them.”

Exodus 26:31

““You shall make a veil woven of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen. It shall be woven with an artistic design of cherubim.”

There were three main colors:  Blue, purple and scarlet, woven throughout the tabernacle from it’s coverings and curtains to the garments of the high priest.  A fourth color, the pure white linen which is not readily visible, served as the foundation of every fabric.

The cloth made for the Mishkan/Tabernacle was woven with the finest tiny threads of blue and red and when they’re positioned so close together they appear to be purple.

Purple is the joining, the melding, combining and blending of blue and red.

This was done as a visual representation

of the place of reconciliation,

the joining

and the place –

‘Ha Makem’-‘The Place’-המקום

was called the Tent of Meeting – it was literally where:

spiritual met physical –

Divine met human –

God met man.

Two realities –

Two realms –

Two dimensions connected.

Shemoth (Exodus) 35:25-26 And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen.

Linen was white.

White speaks of purity and righteousness.

And every skillful woman spun with her hands, and they all brought what they had spun in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen. All the women whose hearts stirred them to use their skill spun the goats’ hair.

(Source: Proverbs 31:10-31;

The order was consistently the same Blue, Purple, Red/Scarlet; from right to left, as with Hebrew writing.

Blue is the color of the sky the heavens and so blue represented the heavenly realm and God so it is always listed as first priority.

Blue typifies God’s divinity. It could be said that it’s the color of God.  Blue has a very special meaning to Him representing shamayim – the heavens. It is said God made the sky blue to reflect the glory of His beloved Son!

The middle color purple depicts royalty and is the melding and joining of blue and red the joining of heaven with earth of God to man of spirit with flesh and only in the joining is the purple seen, revealing a total fusing of all that is Him with all that is us. This is the miracle and hard to comprehend – all that is holy, to all that is not and the mystery of the plan of God to become so totally joined that He/Messiah/God will appear to be as sin.

Red/scarlet is a picture of His human side as well as His shed blood.  The color scarlet or red is connected to man through the word in Hebrew – adam=man; which has its roots in the Hebrew word for red. In the middle east the color of the earth is primarily redred earth from which man was created. Also scarlet/red is the symbol of sin and guilt.

It was a prophetic visual of that day to come at Calvary.

These three colors are always recorded in this order:

Blue, purple, scarlet.

The colors are very significant and are the same colors that are used in the garments of the High Priest.

The color Blue represents Heaven for Blue is the color of the sky and a reminder of the heavenly realm.  We are given a description of a glimpse of Heaven when we read of what Moses, Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu (the sons of Moses), and the 70 elders of Israel saw when they went up to worship God on Mount Sinai:

Exodus 24:10  And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

The significance of the color blue would be associated in the minds of all the people with the commandments of the Lord representing the 613 Laws. It also spiritually signifies the Healing Power of God. It is the color which represents, biblically, the Word of God. Numbers 15:38-41 denotes this biblical meaning of blue (fringe of the borders a ribband of blue).

The very fact that the sky is blue stands for His presence; Sapphires reflect a beautiful sky-blue color reminding us of not only the blue heaven we can see but also the Heaven far beyond, the Heaven of heavens.

Nehemiah 9:6  Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

The Biblical blue was essential in its use in the Temple in Jerusalem and the scripture commands that this color be worn on the tzitzit, the four-cornered garment of the tallit/prayer shawl.

However, for close to 1500 years, the identity of the Biblical blue was lost to the world.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/mysterious-secret-of-the-hilazon/

Tekhelet is ancient Hebrew for blueviolet, used in Modern Hebrew as a color equivalent to light blue. Information concerning it, remained in passages in the Talmud which describes the source of the blue dye – a snail known as the (C)hilazon. In ancient times purple and blue dyes derived from snails were so rare and sought after that they were literally worth their weight in gold. These precious dyes colored the robes of the kings and princes of Media, Babylon, Egypt, Greece and Rome. To wear them was to be identified with royalty. Notice the red stripes on the inside of the snails shell. By His (blood red) stripes we are healed.

Numbers 15:38-40

The color red in the Bible represents blood.  The life of man is in the blood (Leviticus 17:11) and Messiah’s blood atonement is necessary for the redemption of man. His pure blood paid the penalty for our sins and by His blood, we are washed clean.

Yeshua/Jesus as our Passover sacrifice

Revelation 1:5  And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.

1 Peter 1:18-19  For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But [redeemed] with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

Col 1:20-21  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled.

It also represented the red ribbon of Rahab, which pointed to the inclusion of the Gentiles in salvation.

A darker shade of red is scarlet. It’s a color used, along with blue and purple in the Tabernacle, and it represents earthiness. The Hebrew word for scarlet has the same root meaning of the Hebrew word for earth. Adam was created from the dust of the earth– he was earthy, and in the story it’s told that Esau was born red all over like a hairy garment — With red hair all over his body, and so they named him Esau. Genesis 25:25

Esau became a profane man– a man related not to spiritual things, but to earthly things. Also from the root word of scarlet comes the word for worm.

The psalmist referred to himself as a worm (Psa 22:6), Isaiah referred to Jacob in his natural state as a worm (Isa 41:14), and Yeshua/Jesus referred to unregenerate man as a worm (Mark 9:444648) — and that is exactly what man is in his natural state, without God.  Man’s life is in the blood. He is earthy.  But, redeemed by the pure and precious blood of Messiah, our life is in the Spirit.

Purple represents kingship.

In ancient times, purple dye was expensive, therefore making the color purple symbolic of prestige, nobility and kingship/royalty (Judges 8:26Esther 8:15).

The Bible also reveals purple to be symbolic of wealth, prosperity and luxury (Exodus 28:5Ezekiel 27:7Proverbs 31:22Song of Solomon 3:107:5Luke 16:19Acts 16:14Revelation 17:418:1216).

Purple reminds us of Jesus because He is the King of kings and He lives and rules in the hearts of those who are His.

Romans 15:12  And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

1 Timothy 1:17  Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 19:16  And he [Jesus] hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The color purple, which combines both blue and red, red/scarlet, which points to Yeshua/Jesus’ blood, His life as a man, and His work on earth (scarlet = earthy), and the color blue, which points to His heavenly dwelling place (blue = Heaven).

https://www.minimannamoments.com/a-mystery-why-was-the-priest-in-the-water/

It directs us to the Royal Priesthood, (Melki-Zedek), which combines both the salvation given to us through the sacrifice of Messiah and our love of the Father shown through our obedience to the Law. As Yeshua/Jesus reminds us Matthew 5:17

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. 18 For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

However the sacrifices are no longer required because He was the lamb of God that took away the sin of the world. John 1:29

White: Due to its purity of light and color, white represents our clean linen garments of righteousness – the garments of salvation, as we prepare ourselves as His Bride to be clothed in the appropriate wedding garment.

White is the presence of all the light in the visible spectrum. Clouds and snow appear as white because almost all of the sun’s light is reflected by the water in the clouds and snow.  Only a very small amount of the visible spectrum is absorbed.  Fully light and without stain, the color white reminds us of the righteousness of Messiah.

He is pure light and pure righteousness and when a sinner comes to Him in faith He washes them clean.

Isaiah 1:18  …though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

When Yeshua/Jesus washes us clean from sin, He makes us “white as snow” by giving us His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21); representing the perfection of Messiah.

To these four colors was added gold.

The color gold points to God’s deity.  In ancient days, kings, pharaohs, and noblemen were adorned with gold to signify their high position.

King Solomon had an ivory throne overlaid with the best gold (1 Kings 10:18).

When instructions were given for building the furniture in the Tabernacle, God was very specific about the use of gold.  Every piece of furniture pointed to Christ and to His deity.  For example, in the Holy of Holies, the Ark of the Covenant was constructed of acacia wood (symbolic of Yeshua/Jesus’ humanity) and overlaid with pure gold (symbolic of His divinity). The mercy seat was pure gold as well as the two cherubim, one on each side with wings outstretched (Exodus 25:10-21).  The lampstand was constructed of pure gold, and the table of shewbread and the altar of incense were constructed of acacia wood (Christ’s humanity) and overlaid with gold (Christ’s divinity). Another example of gold representing Jesus’ divinity was at His birth. One of the Wise Men presented Him with a gift of gold, a gift befitting the King of kings that pointed to Yeshua/Jesus being the begotten Son of God.

God’s presence was in the Ark and it was also the receptacle of the Holy Spirit.

As the High Priest symbolizes the living Temple – we are the living Temple/Sanctuary today, the gold represents the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh in us.

Just as the gold was interwoven amongst all the other strands of material, so too His Holy Spirit/ Ruach HaKodesh ties all the members of the Body of Messiah together.

Gold represents God’s love because His love is more precious and more valuable than all the gold in the world and interestingly adding the letter L to GOD spells GOLD. And like gold, He is highly desired (Psalm 42:263:1Philippians 3:10) and His value exceeds everything and everyone.

Even in the color order there is a secret – a hidden message.

Before Messiah was born to live in a human body, He was fully God, or you could say fully blue – coming from the realm of the heavens, hashamayim.
Human beings, are often referred to as being red blooded. Adam, one of the words for man, in Hebrew, and can have the meaning of red-blooded man.

In modern Israel the word for blood is the word, dam,

which is the root word for “A-dam.”

If we follow this through then, Messiah, the fully blue of heaven, was born of Mary, a fully red human descended from Adam, it could be suggested that God, (in Messiah) became something He never was before – a perfect combination of the two realms Blue and RedPurple, or in this case – The Perfect Human. As the scripture 1Cor.15:45 says He was the Last Adam and the 1st Adam we know was also created perfect.

We as believers, start out fully red (of the earthly realm), accept the fully blue (Messiahs heavenly realm), and then we also become purple, royalty like Messiah as children of the King of kings……

His purple people.

The power of the coming Savior and the Atonement was prophesied through the prophet Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

On the cross, Matt 27:46 Mark 15:34 the Savior quoted Psalm 22:1 “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”

In this messianic psalm verse 6 states, “I am a worm, and no man” The Hebrew word used here for “worm” (tola’at) refers specifically to the crimson worm.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/the-secret-of-how-a-worm-preached-the-gospel/

The Hebrew words for scarlet (shani) and crimson (tola) signify where the colors were derived from—a worm (most likely Kermes echinatus).

The scarlet or crimson worm is of a family of insects that live on oak trees.

the words scarlet and crimson refer to red colors that come from certain dyes.

Ancient cultures placed great importance on dyes, especially those used for sacred or ceremonial purposes, such as burial clothing or purification rituals (see Leviticus 14:6). The point of a dye is that it is not only colorful but also colorfast, meaning that its rich color will stick to the cloth and not fade or wash away.

Permanent. The colorfast nature of scarlet and crimson dyes is similar to our sins, and “the Lord cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance” (Alma 45:16). “According to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made, or else all mankind must unavoidably perish” (Alma 34:9).

Only the Blood of Messiah can remove a permanent colorfast stain of sin.

Crimson is a strong, red color, inclining to purple.

It originally referred to the color of the kermes dye produced from an insect, Kermes vermilio, (from where we get our word vermillion); but the name is now sometimes also used as a generic term for slightly bluish-red colors that are between red and rose.

There is a correlation with the Tabernacles’ 4 main colors and the 4 Gospels and also the 4 faced man, the 4 faces of the cherubim.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/a-keruvim-cherub-not-quite-like-we-imagined-part-2/

In Matthew’s gospel Yeshua/Jesus is portrayed most often as King of Kings. Messiah Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The lineage recorded in Matthew proves his rightful, kingly claim to the throne of His father, King David. The Lion corresponds to Him because it’s known as the King of the animal kingdom. As the color most often associated with royalty is purple, so it is the color of Matthew.

Red is the color for Marks gospel. Here, Messiah is most often referred to as the suffering servant.  The ox was used as a servant – a beast of burden, as well as a sacrificial animal.  Yeshua/Jesus went about doing good, healing, restoring.   Mark’s gospel records that He came not to be served, but to serve.  In Marks account, there is no genealogy here probably because the lineage or pedigree of a servant is not necessary.

The Temple veil with depiction of the four gospels.

In Luke, Yeshua/Jesus is portrayed in everyday and familiar domestic settings, we read of Him being among Mary, Martha and Lazarus and other ones that He loved so much. Its in Luke that the Prodigal son is recorded.  White is also associated with this gospel. In Luke’s record, Messiah is most often referred to as the son of Man, one of the 4 faces portrayed on the temple veil.

The reason for the portrayal as a man may be because its easy to get caught up in His Divinity, Holiness, majesty and might, that we sometimes forget that He is also fully human, with human emotions and human sympathies.

Hebrews 4:15 New International Version (NIV). 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are —yet he did not sin.

He doesn’t merely know how we feel the scripture seems to tell us that He feels what we feel. His lineage recorded here goes all the way back to Adam proving that He is 100% a human man.

Yeshua/Jesus is portrayed most often as the, Very God, from heaven so Blue
is connected with the Gospel of John, for here His Godhood is revealed. The Eagle, which soars high above in the heavens, represents this Gospel and there is no genealogy in John’s account because, as divinity, an eternal being, He has no beginning and no end.

The high priest’s garments and the Ephod itself also had a fifth element woven throughout, 5 is the numerical value of grace.

This 5th element was Pure gold thread.

Gold depicts God’s divinity and gave durability to the cloth as well as a glistening sheen. Artisans of ancient Israel took the purest fine gold and first hammered or beat it into very thin sheets until it was paper thin.  Next, they cut it into tiny strips, rolled and stretched it until it was very fine thread.  This was woven in amongst the blue, purple, scarlet and white linen and fashioned into the Ephod and the breastplate on which were mounted the 12 precious stones, representing the 12 tribes of Israel.

This hammering, beating, cutting, rolling and stretching is a graphic representation of the beating Messiah received as He took our place.  The scriptures record in Isaiah that He was brutalized so badly by the sadistic Roman soldiers, that He was not even recognizable as human.

All the remaining copious amounts of gold throughout the tabernacle was Beaten and hammered into shape, it was all fashioned in the same way.

The Gospels represent a beautifully woven tapestry of the Blue, Purple, Scarlet, White and Gold.

As the Blue as He healed all who were sick and oppressed of the devil.  Performing miracles, overcoming impossible obstacles and raising the dead.

As the Purple He was The King Who sat down on the mount to teach the people, not as the Scribes and Pharisees but as One having authority and the King Who rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.

As the Scarlet/Red as our divine servant went about doing good, the One Who suffered all for our sakes.

As the white He was the Man, sound asleep in the boat who awoke to the cries of those He loved in need of His help. Recognize the Blue in the power and majesty as He commands the wind and waves to be still with a word: SHALOM!

The Gold is represented as the One tested by the devil and proved Him to be the very God in human form.

As the fulfillment drew close as Yeshua prepared Himself to be the instrument of the actual joining, they mocked and beat Him and pressed a thorny crown into His head. And put a robe around Him the scriptures tell us it was a scarlet/purple color.

Behold the man!

So Yeshua/Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, “Look! Here is the man!” Holman Christian Standard Bible.

Then Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Holman Christian Standard Bible
They stripped Him and dressed Him in a scarlet military robe.

Matthew 27:28

The Soldiers Mock Jesus 27 Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company around Him. 28 They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. 29 And they twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on His head.

Young’s Literal Translation
and having unclothed him, they put around him a crimson cloak,

Weymouth New Testament
Stripping off His garments, they put on Him a general’s short crimson cloak.

Most other translations say scarlet from the greek κοκκίνην
kokkinēn

Scarlet Robe

Matt. 27:28, “They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.”

Matt. 27:31, “After they had mocked Him, they took the scarlet robe off Him and put His own garments back on Him, and led Him away to crucify Him.”

Purple Robe

Mark 15:17, “They dressed Him up in purple, and after twisting a crown of thorns, they put it on Him.”

Mark 15:20, “After they had mocked Him, they took the purple robe off Him and put His own garments on Him. And they led Him out to crucify Him.”

John 19:2, “And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and put a purple robe on Him.”

John 19:5, “Jesus then came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, “Behold, the Man!”

The colors are both different and similar depending on the shade and the lighting.  For example, dark scarlet is very similar to darker purple.  In the condition of poor lighting, the distinction is even less apparent since the colors would appear darker.

So, it could simply be that the robe was a dark color that could have been accurately described by either word.

Purple was associated with triumph and emperors so along with the crown of thorns it was a mocking symbol of Yeshua/Jesus royalty.

Marcus Aurelius would have worn similar to this.

The very fact that purple was an expensive color made it affordable only to the royals. That Jesus was made to put it on before his crucifixion, implies that the Romans were sending a strong signal to the Jews against any coup.

It is full of significance. The symbolism of not just the purple, but all four colors of the robe viewed in the Gospel accounts from points of view.

Heb. 10:19-20 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

This then relates to the pattern of the tabernacle of Moses wherein the veil was made of four colors.

Ex. 26:31 And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:

Blue [tekeleth], purple [argaman]scarletlinen.

So we see Messiah clothed in the same, although the two purples refer to the blue and the purple; the word, gorgeous, may be translated white, like white linen.

John 19:2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple [porphyrus] robe,

Mt. 27:28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet [kokkinos] robe.

Mk. 15:17 And they clothed him with purple [porphyra- purple fish],

Lk. 23:11 And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous [lampros- white] robe, and sent him again to Pilate.

So, the color purple may have also related to royalty, but the primary point was to show Christ came in the flesh.

There are of course the usual Skeptics who maintain that a contradiction exists between the Gospel accounts because they describe the color of the robe differently. Matthew says that the soldiers “put a scarlet robe” on Jesus (27:27-28), Mark says that “they clothed Him with purple ” (15:16-17), and John states that the soldiers put “a purple robe” on Him (19:1-2). These differences have lead some to believe and advocate that the writers wrote under their own power with no help from a Higher Being, and thus they contradicted one another in their narratives. There is however, a valid explanation for the differences in the Gospel narratives concerning the robe placed upon Messiah after His scourging.

It is not uncommon that we all see colors a little differently. There are people who are color blind and do not see the true color at all. What one person calls blue, someone else may be more specific and call navy blue. A military uniform color may appear to some as dark red, but others who sees the faded uniforms for the first time at the end of a conflict may conclude that the color is more maroon. Another e.g. one child may color an orange-yellow Sun, while another makes a Sun that is bright yellow.

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John simply wrote from different perspectives. The same way that people look at colors and see different tones, shades, and tints, they experienced the activities surrounding the life of Yeshua/Jesus from different perspectives and described what they saw individually.

It is very likely that the garment placed upon Yeshua/Jesus after his brutal scourging was similar to the description of the previously mentioned faded uniforms, but in His case we read of “a scarlet robe…faded to resemble purple” (The Wycliffe Bible Commentary). [It is difficult to imagine Pilate arraying Jesus’ bloody body with a new robe. More likely it was one that had been worn and cast off as useless (Barnes).] According to A.T. Robertson, there were various shades of purple and scarlet in the first century and it was not easy to distinguish the colors or tints (1997). In fact, the ancients (especially the Romans) used the term purple when speaking of various shades of red (McGarvey, 1875, p. 361; Barnes, 1997). Consequently, these different colors sometimes would be called by the same name.

So really there is no discrepancy in the scriptures concerning the color of the robe placed around Messiah. It seems that they were simply like others of their day and used the terms scarlet and purple interchangeably.

Purple – Crimson – Scarlet.

Colors in the Bible have a symbolic significance that can remind us of God and His plan of redemption.

As with numbers, colors point us to Yeshua/Jesus by symbolizing His Person and His works. Hebrew hermeneutics PARDES, has an interpretation approach that includes something called a “remez.”  A remez is a hint of a hidden message or a deeper meaning that is below the surface or behind the words.  Numbers and colors are both remezes.

Note the Textus Receptus has additional Greek text here to connect to Psalm 22:18

Finding Colors that Point to Messiah in the Symbolism:

There are many examples in the Bible of colors that point to Yeshua/Jesus.  One of the greatest examples is the door of the Tabernacle.

Exodus 27:16  And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.

Blue points to Heaven, where God dwells.

Purple points to One who would come as Messiah, the King of the Jews

Scarlet (red) points to His blood atonement, paid for the sins of man.

White (fine linen) points to the Righteous One and the righteousness He imputes to all who come to Him in faith.

This was the gate, the entrance to the Tabernacle, a type of door in the fence that surrounded the Tabernacle.  There was only one door through which to enter into the court of the Tabernacle.  Beyond the court, in the Holy Place, was gold furniture and beyond that was the Holy of Holies with the golden Ark and the presence of God.  We know that Jesus is our Door, and only through Him can man come before God.

I am the DOOR: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. (John 10:9)

Therefore, we see that by passing through the four-colored veil/curtain, (DOOR) we look forward to our perfect High Priest, Yeshua/Jesus the Messiah.

An incredible fulfillment as the Messiah Yeshua was the vessel

in whom heaven and earth

God and man,

spirit and flesh,

infinite and finite –

blue and red became one – completely.

It is finished He said, knowing all that had been accomplished in every prophetic detail. Planned from the beginning including the detailed instructions of the Tabernacles construction;

so that as all that is red and ungodly in us –

is joined to all that is blue and godly in Him –

we become the purple people of His passion –

and He is our High Priest after the order of Malki Zedek.
