Original Word: קוֹל Part of Speech: Noun Masculine Transliteration:qol Phonetic Spelling: (kole) Definition:sound, voice
Genesis 3:8 HEB: וַֽיִּשְׁמְע֞וּ אֶת־ ק֨וֹל יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהִ֛ים NAS: They heard the sound of the LORD God KJV: And they heard the voice of the LORD INT: heard the sound of the LORD God
And we all know that our Heavenly Father speaks to us but many are unsure that they are actually hearing His voice, or if it’s just our own thoughts.
Is there any way we can know for certain?
There are numerous scriptures about thevoiceof God and the more we read in the scriptures
and the longer we walk in obedience with Him
the clearer His voice will become.
The key is by the walk of obedience,
which will always give greater clarity; because the more we are obedient, the more His Spirit of Holiness can fill us and enhance and empower our walk.
To those who are obedient….
In the Book of Acts, Simon Peter said that the Holy Spirit is only given to those who obey God. He put it this way.
And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him (Acts 5:32 NRSV).
Here His Holy Spirit is clearly linked to obedience.
How does Holy Spirit empower obedience?
Romans 8:14 Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Gal. 5:16 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit .
Gal. 54:25 Having begun by the Spirit…
By being obedient to His Word because we love Him, we can receive His Holy Spirit Who will help and empower us to walk by the Spirit and to clearly hear His Voice; and as we hear, we do, we obey, completing a cycle of life in Messiah. Yeshua/Jesus is the way the truth and the life. John 14:6.
This is not a new concept as it is part of Gods covenant relationship with His people.
The Hebrew prayer known as theshema, begins with the Hebrew word that means
hear and obey.
It is the daily declaration of faith
Shema Yisrael שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל “Hear, O Israel ”
The first verse of theShema, fromDeuteronomy 6, is among the best-known in all of Jewish liturgy; and are the first two words of a section of the Torah that is the centerpiece of the morning and evening prayer services, encapsulating the core Hebrew affirmation and admonition.
Shema
שָׁמַע
shaw-mah’
שָׁמַע shâmaʻ, shaw-mah’; a primitive root; to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively, to tell, etc.):—× attentively, call (gather) together, × carefully, × certainly, consent, consider, be content, declare, ×diligently, discern, give ear, (cause to, let, make to) hear(-ken, tell), × indeed, listen, make (a) noise, (be) obedient, obey, perceive, (make a) proclaim(-ation), publish, regard, report, shew (forth), (make a) sound, × surely, tell, understand, whosoever (heareth), witness.
The KJV translates Strong’s H8085 in the following manner:
If we do not listen for His voice, we will not hear it.
If we are not paying attention, we will miss His instructions.
If we have no relationship with Him, we will not care what He has to say to us.
If we have no reverent respect towards Him, we will not even think of listening for His voice.
We will be living our life on our own terms and doing only what pleases us, catering to the fleshly desires of a life lived by natural physical standards; with no recognition of spiritual direction or influence. Our relationship to the Father, Jesus/Yeshua and Holy Spirit is one of love, out of which we desire to please Him and do all He has asked of us. It is not one of a reluctant slave, forced to comply with rules and regulations against their will.
So hearing His voice will become clearer as we follow Him and allow the reciprocal love relationship between us to grow deeper. Just as with any human love relationship. We hear the voice of a loved one and recognize it because we know them, and want to answer and do what they ask or need immediately. It is the same for us with our Savior, there should be no question of our instant response to the one who died in our place…
Are we hearing our Fathers Voice ?
Qaval קול
Exodus 19:5: Now therefore if you will obeymy voice indeed and keep my commandments, Then you will be a peculiar treasure unto me above all the people, for all the earth is mine.
Our Heavenly Father loves us, He loves everybody, but reading the above verse it seems that there are those who He not only loves but He treasures.
How can we be included in those He treasures?
We become this treasure IFweobey His voice.. If we really heard our Heavenly Fathersvoice and knew without a shadow of a doubt it was His voice, would we honestly do anything other than obey? A common saying amongst christians is: God told me the other day…
probably we’ve all said it at one time or another?..but
was it really God’s voice we heard, and if it was, would we question our mental health?
Does it depend on what the Voice says as to whether we believe and act upon it? If the Voice told us to go to a persons house and pray for them would we do it or would we reason it away in our minds?
Already noted in Hebrew a word for hearing God’s
voice is qaval
which is
speaking, calling, voice etc.,
but it is also used for
nonverbal communication.
There are three Hebrew letters in
qaval.
קול
The first letter
Qop ל
represents:God speaking through a natural or human instrument like a preacher or teacher.
The second letter
Vav ו
is God speaking through an inward connection, that strong impulse, impression or feelingand
the last letter
Lamed ל
is God speaking through the Word of God, the Bible.
One definition ofqaval is:
as an outward expression of one’s thoughts.
It is closely associated with the word
qalahor
restraining
and qalal – to diminish.
We could say that, as we control our natural human desires and lusts of this flesh and restrain ourselves, by not walking after the flesh but walking after the spirit and crucifying the flesh life according to Galatians, then the voice of God becomes clearer.
To truly live in the presence of God 24/7 we would need to spend each day lessening our personal desires and putting a stop to our physical impulses, then we would really begin to hear our Heavenly Fathers’ qaval.
There are many ways that thevoiceof the Lord can speak to us, e.g:
It can be first through His Word, in a scripture He shows us.
It can be a prompting to our thoughts, a direction, an answer.
Hearing the audible voice of God is not an everyday occurrence but we can hear Him all around us in Scripture, in our thoughts as we walk among His creation. When we choose to humble ourselves, less of us and more of Him; when we restrain our cravings, desires and impulses; then we will hear Hisqavalin more ways than we can imagine.
Voice – Qol
Exodus 19:5: ” Now therefore if you will obey my voice indeed and keep my commandments, then you will be a peculiar treasure until me above all the people, for all the earth is mine.” Voice: Hebrew – qol:
sound, cry, thunder, rumor or report.
In its primitive form – to disclose an idea.
The Fathers voicewas heard at Jesus/Yeshuas immersion and some thought it thundered!
It’s all about how we hear!
those who have ears to hear.
We many times speak of those with ‘selective hearing’, hearing only what we want to; or how we hear it in order to suit our own agenda and motives, twisting truth to fit ourselves. Jesus/Yeshua talks about His sheep knowing His voice in John 10:27. Paul heard the voiceof Messiah Jesus on the road to Damascus and Moses heard Hisvoice many times.
At Messiah’s baptism in John 12:29: When the crowd heard the voice, some heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him.
The thunder of heaven was the voice of God, and a direct answer to Yeshua/ Jesus’s petition came: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again” (v. 28).
The Father’s voice was heard on two very important occasions in Messiah’s ministry: the baptism and the transfiguration. At each of these events the Father’s voice, was very distinct and unique.Matthew 17:5; Luke 9:35-36.
Is this word voice, referring to an impression, thought or feeling as we might interpret it today? We know that the word for voice is
qol
which is
speaking, calling, voice etc.
The Greek word here in the New Testament is
phone
it’s obvious which English word comes from that one!
All of them give the idea of a noise, tone or sound.
gol is spelledקוֹל
ק Qof which represents God speaking through a natural or human instrument,
ו Vav is a connection between heaven and earth and
ל Lamed represents divine instruction.
In other words this is telling us that this voice of God
can come from:
a natural instrument, e.g. a minister, pastor, preacher, teacher, prophet, friend etc.,
or through a natural event, such as a voice, noise, sound, thunder, proclamation, etc..
This voice is also heard as we spend time alone with our Heavenly Father, this is when we make that connection between heaven and earth.
This voice can be heard while studying His Word.
This is where we receive inspiration and revelation from being taught by His Holy Spirit.
Ultimately the word in Hebrew, qol,
simply carries the idea of a disclosure/revealing.
It can be an impression, thought or feeling which is so powerful, it actually seems like an audible voice.
Qol /voice, by its very nature is a Semitic word and can be very poetic, i.e., when used as a simile or metaphor.
Lastly, Qol /voice, can be just that, an actual, audible voice.
We can be certain of this, that when our Heavenly Father desires to speak to us individually, He’ll do it in a way where we will not be afraid, or think we are losing our sanity; because He is the Creator of His universe, He has countless ways to disclose/reveal His thoughts to us. We should never try to put Him in a box or limit how and where He can speak to us.
He is an infinite spirit being and Qol /voice, expresses this infinity. He created each of us with an internal voice/Qol, building into us a way of hearing His Voice as any child knows and recognizes their parents voice. It may come to us from the physical nature around us e.g. a bird flying to the window and singing each morning, or a deer, a rabbit or squirrel coming into our garden. Any number of experiences speak to us, like a clear night sky, filled with stars,a song or melody, a sunset, a smile from a stranger; these are all things that may activate that inner ability to hear Him.
When you know Him and are intimate with Him, that Qol within you will be tuned into Him and that is the Qol, the voice of our Heavenly Father speaking to us.
In John 10:27 Messiah said “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” so we shouldn’t we expect to hear Him? Especially IF we are following Him?
Maybe someone reading this has heard the audible voice of God. Some people say they have, folks usually hear it during times of great distress, so perhaps it ‘s just an emotional reaction?
When we do hear His voice, it will always bear witness in our spirit, and we know it was the qol or voice of God, just like the voice Isaiah heard in his vision some 2,600 years ago.
Isaiah 6:8: “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here [am] I; send me.”
Other verses that speak of the voice of the Lord is Psalms 29:7 and
there are more than a few interpretations of this Psalm.
A Voice – QOL קול
Psalms 29:7: “The voice of the Lord divided the flames of fire.”
One interpretation is that it is referring to God making a covenant with man. Other commentators say David is making a reference to the three Hebrew children in the fiery furnace, although this is not likely as David lived long before this event. The most usual one is that, David wrote this Psalm before a thunder storm and the flames of fire represent the lightning, and the voice of God the thunder.
One 19th century Rabbi indicates that the word for voice/qol doesn’t have to be a physical audible voice. It is really anything that communicates a message. A thunder storm conveying a message to the Psalmist would be a qol or voice.
So what was David implying about the nature of God and His relationship with man in this verse?
In ancient times lightning and thunder were said to be the gods/fallen angels, battling against each other. Lightning and thunder cannot be ignored and does remind us of how powerful our Heavenly Father really is. Messiah said Himself that He would return as the lightning is from east to west meaning: there will be no question in anyones mind as to Who it is that is returning.
David was the king of one of the most powerful nations in the world and maybe he envisioned himself as the flames of fire being divided by Gods voice?
In Hebrew
divide is chesev
which also means
to cut, destroy or hew,
Was David imagining that he would flash his lightning and then God responds with His thunder which promptly crushes the pride in him? The word divide is spelled
Cheth – joining with God,
Sade – humility and
Beth – the heart.
This would suggest that God’s voice draws him away from his own splendor, and humbles him before God.
The word for fire is ’esh which has a numerical value of 301. The word for fear and distress is yara’ which also has a numerical value of 301; so fire can also represent fear and distress.
Blazing or flame comes from the word lehev, which in it’s Semitic root comes from the glittering of the sun off a sword. The flames of fire could be a picture of those fears and distresses that constantly wear us down. Maybe David sat watching the thunderstorm and seeing the lightning flash, it caused him to think about how he could be so at peace one moment and then like a flash of lightning, he is reminded of some serious problem or situation that he had to confront? Immediately after that flash of lightning came the noise/thunder, the voice of God cutting or destroying that fearful or distressful situation. Maybe that will help us the next time a thunder storm erupts.
The voice of God could represent an intimate knowledge of God, in that this knowledge of Him and Who He is, overcomes and destroys all our fears and distresses. When David heard the thunder, was he reminded of the closeness, the intimate relationship he had with a powerful God Who could destroy the flash of lightning which represented his fear and distress?
Another perspective of voices is recorded in Exodus 20:18:
And all the people were seeing the thunder voices and the torches and the voice of the shofarand the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood at a distance.
This is a very strange description!
How was it possible for the children of Israel to
SEE the thundering voices?
Seeing Voices – Raim Qol
ראים קול
Resh Aleph Yod Mem Qop Vav Lamed
Many of the translations describe this as thunder and lightning.
the words here are
raim eth equloth
and they literally mean:
see the voices.
Because we know that we
can’t see voices
there must be something metaphoric about these words!
interestingly the Jewish sages teach that this is expressing a sensory experience beyond the normal operation of the five senses. They say it is an overflow of experience that activates all the senses merging them together. In this case, a person is actually
seeing a sound.
Your eyes are hearing and your ears are seeing!
Then there was the sound of the shofar and the people
yarah the sound of the shofar.
They saw the sound of the shofar.
Yarah can mean both physical seeing and spiritual seeing. It is how we are to walk the walk. Walk by the spiritual senses our Heavenly Father has imparted to us, and not by the natural senses.
It is possible that here the people were seeing into another realm, another dimension; what is normally invisible became the visible, the supernatural realm was open to them. Just like so many examples in the scriptures: 2Kings 6:17-20 God opened his eyes.
And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around.
Their five senses were merged into one super sense. They did not like it, it terrified them, so much so that in verse 19 they asked Moses to speak to them, they did not want to hear directly from God. Moses told them not to be afraid, yet inverse 21, the people stood at a distance and only Moses entered the cloud.
This idea of the five senses combining into one sense in the supernatural realm could possibly explain other biblical accounts. We should remember that In our Western culture, we have a greek mindset; which means we are a culture based on science and mathematics, and because of this, we only look for one interpretation. In the Middle Eastern Hebrew/Semitic culture, there can be many interpretations and all of them could be correct. That is why it is essential for our Heavenly Fathers Holy Spirit to guide and teach us as we study the Scriptures. If we seek to know the Father with all our hearts, we will find Him and His Holy Spirit will reveal/disclose to us the interpretation He wants us to know.
What caused the children of Israel to be so terrified?
The word qol for voices is plural.
Could the thundering voices have been the sound of everyone’s thoughts, reactions, and feelings?
Did all five senses became just one sense in the shekinah cloud, in the very presence of the Creator of the universe? And was the result of His presence that there were no secrets, nothing was hidden, no more facades, only unhindered truth?
They had just received the ten commandments, which included serious restrictions and guidelines like Thou shalt not commit adultery. Did a man glance at his neighbor’s wife and suddenly everyone knew what he was thinking? Or was another of the commandments Thou shalt not covet revealed as a woman looked at another woman and instantly knows what she is jealous of.
Imagine what would happen if the cloud of our Heavenly Fathers’ Shekinah Glory filled our meetings today? We may initially be eager to enter into His presence…
But what if those that entered the cloud suddenly found their senses becoming one, and everyone suddenly knew everyone else’s thoughts? We may not want to remain there very long either.
We should ask ourselves, if we are sanctified in our thoughts and motives, in that we wouldn’t mind who knew what is in our hearts? If we answer that we would mind, then is our heart really at one and in unity with our Father and Messiah’s heart? If our heart and motives are one with His heart and motives, then we would not be concerned. However, if there’s something unclean hidden in our heart, and the presence of Gods glory was the same as in the Exodus 20:18 cloud where everyone could
see a voice,
we would maybe be rather reluctant and even a little afraid, just as the Israelites were?
Surely this is how it is in God’s presence. Nothing is hidden from Him. The only reason we want to hide, or make excuses, is because of sin, and the shame we feel. The truth is, we have a Savior, a Redeemer, One who forgives our sins and covers our shame with His very own Blood. Hallelujah!
All He looks for is our prayers of repentance, humbly accepting His forgiveness and when we ask for a clean heart and a right spirit…His answer is always yes and amen.
He is always speaking
but…
are we listening?
We hear the kol/voice of God more times than we realize and we must always be like Samuel, and in obedience answer immediately… Yes Father.
שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם,

The word BEFORE
is
Strongs 6440
Original Word:פָנִים Transliteration: panim or paneh Phonetic Spelling: paw-neem’
Hebrew Rabbis teach that the words we have in English Bibles translated as
Plural (but always as singular) of an unused noun (paneh {paw-neh’}; from panah); the face (as the part that turns); used in a great variety of applications (literally and figuratively); also (with prepositional prefix) as a preposition (before, etc.) — + accept, a-(be-)fore(-time), against, anger, X as (long as), at, + battle, + because (of), + beseech, countenance, edge, + employ, endure, + enquire, face, favour, fear of, for, forefront(-part), form(-er time, -ward), from, front, heaviness, X him(-self), + honourable, + impudent, + in, it, look(-eth) (- s), X me, + meet, X more than, mouth, of, off, (of) old (time), X on, open, + out of, over against, the partial, person, + please, presence, propect, was purposed, by reason of, + regard, right forth, + serve, X shewbread, sight, state, straight, + street, X thee, X them(-selves), through (+ – out), till, time(-s) past, (un-)to(-ward), + upon, upside (+ down), WITH (-within, + -stand), X ye, X you.
This changes the perspective
of Abram’s relationship with the
Almighty God – El Shaddai –
which we render as:
the all sufficient God
or the Almighty-Breasty-One.
The Hebrew language incorporates numerical value to letters and words and it is understood that the number
9 is the number of completion
and
90 is the number of Humility.
According to this it would indicate that when Abram became
99, complete in humility,
he recognized and understood that God was truly
El Shaddai – all-sufficient
and he could
walk WITH God.
Torah scholars definition of humility is that, we are not for one moment to be trusting in self, in the arm of flesh, our own capabilities, knowledge, talents or any kind of security we have built; or any dependence on wealth or provision from any source other than the Lord/El Shaddai.
It is having complete total TRUST in our
Heavenly Father as El Shaddai,
to be all-sufficient for us.
We are to put our trust/batak in our Heavenly Father as He and Abram did. Messiah never put His trust in people because He knew and understood the shortcomings and weaknesses of the fallen human nature.
Jesus didn’t commit Himself to them. John 2:24,25.
He was never suspicious, yet He was discerning and wise.
He was never bitter, resentful or offended, nor did He take vengeance toward anyone; and yet at the same time, He never gave up hope for them.
Why?
Because His BATAK/TRUST
was totally and completely in His Father first.
If we place our trust in people before Him and not in the Father, we will quickly experience despair, hopelessness and disappointment towards them. This can lead to bitterness and resentment because they didn’t measure up to how they presented themselves. Understanding that not one individual, except Messiah Yeshua/Jesus, can ever be right or perfect in this life, prevents the negative assessments in others. The only part of a person or ourself we can trust, is God’s spirit of grace and mercy in us.
Hebrews 10:9. He came to do God’s will.
An individual’s obedience is to what they see and determine to be a need. Messiah’s obedience was to His/our Fathers will. To seek and save the lost and tell the heathen about Him. However, first we are to make sure that God’s needs and His will in us personally are being met. Jesus/Yeshua said for us to be mindful of this in Matthew 6:5-15
7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.9 Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.[a] 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done,[b] on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread,[c] 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.[d]
14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
The purpose of our training as His disciples, is to get us into the right relationship towards the needs of our Heavenly Father and His will, plan and purposes, NOT ours. Once our Father’s needs in us have been met, He will then open the way for us to accomplish His will, which is meeting His needs, plan and purposes somewhere else.
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18
We are also to remember that He said: Matthew 18:5 who ever receives one little child in my name receives me.
Messiah came as a child Himself. He is entrusting Himself to each of us and desiring our individual lives to be a Bethlehem; where He can grow up, where the natural life could be slowly transformed by the indwelling life of the Son of God. His ultimate purpose is that the life of Messiah be manifest in and through us. The same life/ chaim that was in Him can also be in us, by the power of HIs Holy Spirit, just as it was in
Luke 1:41. and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh.
And we are to be always ready with a listening ear for the slightest whisper of His Voice/kol, calling to us. In the Song of Solomon there is a verse that says:
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land; 2:12
A season of the voice of Messiah, the bridegroom is calling.
This season is also a time of pruning, to bear more fruit for His Kingdom.
The dove, Yonah (Jonah) in Hebrew, reminds us that Messiah Jesus pointed to Noah and Jonah as end-times signs.
The dove was a sign for Noah and Yonah/Jonah/Dove
was a sign to the people of Nineveh
to repent and turn to the Lord before His judgment came.
Matthew 12:39; 24:37.
The entire book of the Song of Solomon is a picture of Messiah’s love for His bride; into whom we are grafted and His voice calls to us in unconditional love and devotion. He is calling to His Bride.
Those who truly love Him will respond to His loving call.
Like always attracts like- what is common between people will draw like a magnet, just like the old saying, birds of a feather flock together.
Like desires, like lifestyle, like interests, like goals, etc.
If you ever feel you don’t fit, like you are a square peg in a round hole, then you’re probably in the wrong place with the wrong group. The Spirit of God within people draws them together.
Phil. 2:2-8. fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit.
1Pet 3:8 Finally, all of you be like-minded [united in spirit], sympathetic, brotherly, tender-hearted, and humble in spirit;
Romans 15:5 Now the God of endurance and of encouragement give to you to be like-minded one toward another, according to Christ Jesus;
2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brothers, rejoice. Be perfected, be comforted, be of the same mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
We are to have Messiah as the center and the priority of our lives.
Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, by the Holy Spirit which is given to us and like Elizabeth/ John leaped when in the presence of his Messiah.
We too have that inner knowing… we are one in Him with fellow believers/ disciples and love has always been the test of true discipleship.
Those listening to the voice of their beloved, will not be deafened by the cries of man. In a world filled with noise, all clamoring for our attention; we need to hear only the voice of our beloved and those who love Him will hear and recognize His voice and will respond just like the sheep. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me John 10:27
They will even hear the tender gentle cooing of the turtledove above the chaos of the world busyness. And just as Elizabeth’s inner involuntary response was to the close presence of Messiah within Mary.
We are up to watch for Him, wait for Him, with baited breath, and anticipation as the bride for her groom; and as we do, our heart will not only listen for Him… our hearts will hear.
There are times when many bewildering experiences challenge the peace/shalom in our souls; however, when we truly love Him and are listening, and our spirits are submitted to Him willingly, He works all things together for good.
Just as the scripture records the story of Joseph in Genesis 50:20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
God has His Plan and purposes, His ways are not our ways.
’For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the LORD. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts’” Isaiah.55:8,9.
The one who truly loves Him submits to His discipline and chastening, also called pruning, shaking and sifting. His love holds us steady beneath the chastening rod.
“I will make you pass under the rod [as the shepherd does with his sheep when he counts them, and I will count you as Mine and constrain you] and bring you into the bond of the covenant.
Ezekiel 20:37-38
The verse says that the sheep
pass under the rod.
Besides being an instrument of both offense and defense, the rod was, in effect, a two-foot club;
it also functioned as a tool, under which the sheep passed.
What does this picture?
First of all, it pictures counting. The shepherd would count the sheep in his flock to make sure they were all present and accounted for.
This is also a picture of something else, because as the sheep passed under the rod, which is a symbol of the Word of God, they would undergo a very close examination. The shepherd would run his rod backward or across the sheeps body, which separated the wool. This action allowed the shepherd to look down onto the sheep’s skin, enabling him to see both the condition of the wool and the skin which was hidden beneath.
Our Savior the Good Shepherd, is illustrating that by means of His rod, He is giving us a careful, close examination: it gives Him the opportunity to check the quality of His sheep and it also provides a means of separation. As His disciples, both quality and separation are the reasons that He carefully examines us. The rod and the path it leads us on, will take us to deep and difficult places, taking us right into the hidden man of the heart where holiness is formed.
In Matthew 25 we read of the separation of the sheep and the goats. The rod helps to identify, or is a means of making sure of ownership. Sheep’s ears were often bored through or distinctively notched as an identifying mark. When the shepherds could not always clearly see the identifying mark because several flocks had mixed together in the fields, they would make the sheep
pass under the rod.
When they did, the shepherd would flip back the EAR to see the mark of ownership. Again, it also gave them a chance to examine and check the health and quality of each of the sheep.
Note the EAR… that listens and hears!
Right now we are all
Because now,
this season,
is the time of our judgment – I Peter 4:17,
and we are being evaluated to make it clear to whom we really belong: the Heavenly Father or the adversary.
Who is our Shepherd?
Who are we following?
The rod is a vitally important instrument for a shepherd and no good shepherd would be without one.
This process is critical and should not be avoided but rather welcomed because it means He loves us.
Hebrews 12:6 For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises every son He receives.” because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11
1Corinthians 13:7 because love believes and hopes and all things and love will never fail.
Love endures what ever comes. It seeks not its own doesn’t retaliate because it rests in Him rather than in the circumstance. As long as we are focused on and our desires are fulfilled in him we will never be deprived of comfort.
Luke 1: 53
He who goes away Will always be empty in spite of his riches. He who seeks the Lord first will never be unhappy or poor.
David said in Psalm 146:3 Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation–
6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them, Who keeps truth and is faithful forever,
What is first in our lives?
We must trust in Him 1st
We must put His will 1st.
We must put Messiah 1st.
The questions we should and indeed
must ask ourselves are:
Are we 99 yet?
and are we in other words,
at a place where we are
walking before/WITH the Lord El Shaddai?
Is He all sufficient to us?
Are we doing Gods will for our lives?
Are we hearing His voice directing our path or our own choices of future plans?
Will we respond to His loving call?
Are we watching for Him, waiting for Him, with baited breath,
and anticipation, as the bride for her groom?
Can we say with the Shulamite?
The dove
was a sign for Noah and Yonah/Jonah/Dove
pruning before He returns…
Are we willing to be sifted like the disciples?
Luke 22:31
Are we truly 99 – complete in humility, yet?
If we are obedient and willing
we shall eat the good of the land
and we will be ready to walk WITH Him.
Shalom aleikhem
chaverim/friends and mishpachah/family!
Shavua Tov, Have a blessed week,
you are greatly loved and prayed for.
Please don’t leave here without assurance of your salvation
Not sure ..you can be…
Make certain Messiah Jesus/Yeshua is your Redeemer,
Savior, Lord, and soon returning King
and that you have a personal relationship with Him.
It’s all about Life and Relationship, NOT Religion.
You are very precious in His sight.
SIMPLY SAY THE FOLLOWING MEANING IT FROM YOUR HEART..
don’t delay one more minute,
SAY IT RIGHT NOW…
Heavenly Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus/Yeshua asking for forgiveness of my sins for which I am truly sorry. I repent of them all and turn away from my past.
I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus/Yeshua is your Son and that He died on the cross at calvary to pay the price for my sin, so that I might be forgiven and have eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven. Father I believe that Jesus/Yeshua rose from the dead and I ask you to come into my life right now and be my personal Savior and Lord and I will worship you all the days of my life. Because your word is truth I say that I am now forgiven and born again and by faith I am washed clean with the blood of Jesus/Yeshua. Thank you that you have accepted me into your family in Jesus’/Yeshua’s name.
The fingerprint of God is the confirming visual aspect of the God of Creation.
Fingerprints of Gods’ original authorship, can be seen in everything around us which has the breath and energy of life within it.
After we have placed our lives into His Hands, that is when we will begin to see His fingerprints on and in them.
Even the rams’ horn, from which the Shofar is made, shows the fingerprint of God, as does DNA.
1 John 1:5 – This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that Godis LIGHT, and in him is no darkness at all.
The Keys of Light seem to be, the
revealed knowledge
imparted to those with
eyes to see and ears to hear
as opened by
Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh. Eph. 1:8
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. 17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. KJV. Matt.13:15-17
This is understanding the spiritual and comprehending the dimension Jesus/Yeshua came to demonstrate.
Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, Acts 16:14
When God opens the spiritual eyes inside of us, it may be opposite to what we have always thought; and may change both how we see a situation, and what we believe about it.
Our world view takes on a new look as the veils are removed. Just as the moment that the fog lifts and reveals what was there all the time, we simply could not see through the fog/veil.
While we cannot help but be affected by circumstances surrounding us, our spiritual senses can be sharpened to such a degree that, we can actually benefit from them.
This only comes from spending time in the presence of the Lord, for it is only then that we can see our circumstances through His eyes: that is when the eyes of our understanding are being enlightened.
When Jesus/Yeshua said in Matthew 13:13 Seeing they do not see.
He was no doubt referring to more than the use of the natural eyes and ears.
Paul makes a strange statement saying, that you must have “the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know” (Ephesians 1:18). Indicating that the heart has eyes!
The heart of the spirit apparently also has a door, upon which He knocks; and the lock is on the inside. Only we can open it to let in the Lord and His enlightening Spirit. The lock needs a KEY of LIGHT that illuminates, and as God is Light, so it is as Messiah said, He gives the Keys.
Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Ps 119:105
Locks are usually the recipients of keys and locks are mostly integral to, or somehow connected to, doors. They are also called portals, and as we have seen in paleo pictographs of the Hebrew letter dalet, this letter comes from the word meaning Door.
Paleo-Pictograph meaning of Dalet is:
Door, passageway, the process of entering in.
Also means threshold, starting point, point of entry, gate, must begin here.
These are His instructions; when He said I Am the Door of the sheep, we are to follow.
He gave us the example, manifested in the door. He is the One who opened the passage for us to enter in. He is also our guard, defender, shield and Shepherd.
We are to…Seek the kingdom… and we are given the keys. It’s up to us to find the doors and locate the locks, for He told us if we seek we shall find, knock and it shall be opened.
Every door leads somewhere. Every portal opens into something, mostly houses/ buildings of one type or another. The question is, who does the building belong to?
If we have a key and permission to use it, then we are also permitted entrance and obviously welcome; as we must know the owner who gave us the key. We would not give a stranger the key to our house.
Likewise Messiah gives us His KEYS to His house, which is the inner spiritual house of our physical being of which He is now the owner because we now belong to Him and are no longer strangers. We have His Keys of Light.
There is one nation which has never been eradicated throughout all of history. One group of people has survived where others have not.
They are His miraculous witness, they exist for the plan and purpose of God – chosen and separated; set-apart for the specific purpose to declare His existence and fulfill His purpose in restoring us to Himself. In the wilderness, the nation was reborn from bondage and became the herald of future events declaring the end before it began.
In Deut. 30:1-4, Moses declared the journey which Israel would take through all its times of tragedy and captivity. However, He also said they would return to the land. In fact, Moses says that when these events occur, God will do an amazing thing. He says that the Lord himself “will return and gather” His people from their captivity, it was a reference to the Jubilee ordinance.
Ex 19:19 As the sound of the ram’s horn grew louder and louder, Moses would speak and God would answer with a voice/shofar/thunder.
They were to sound the rams horn/shofar.
Leviticus 25:10 (KJV).
And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
There’s only one place in the writings where the rams horn shofar is connected to the words you shall return, and it’s in Lev. 25:10 and is called the law of Jubilees.
The Jubilee is God’s origination and ordained by Him that at the Jubilee, all that has been lost is restored. In Jubilee year we come home and separation from family and land is ended and everything is returned and restored back to the original owner.
Here is another key of light/revealed knowledge.
The connection between the rams horn/shofar and jubilee is that,
the rams horn/the shofar
WAS THE SIGN
of the Jubilee.
It was the rams’ horn/shofar,
that both
ushered in
and
proclaimed its’ coming,
all through the land,
every 50 years.
This was given to Israel and the children of Israel, which includes every grafted in born again believer.
It is a returning to our ancestral possession/land. Deut. 30:3. The sign of the end times would be the return of Israel to her land of the promise!
There have been many Jubilees.
Yovel/Jubilee and Shofar are synonymous; and this is why the Shofar is called the Yovel. And it is why we have missed the deeper significance, when we only read the English words that have been translated from the Hebrew and Aramaic languages.
(Remember Bet/beit and vet, Bb and Vv are the same in the Hebrew alef-bet so the letters are interchangeable).
It is so much clearer when we read the Hebrew word as there is no letter J in the Alef bet, instead it is the letter Y.
Jubilee reads Y B L – even pronouncing the letters without vowels, it immediately sounds and reads like the Hebrew word; and adding vowel sounds makes it complete.
Now it is easier to see that Jesus/Yeshua is not only the Dalet /the Door; but also our Jubilee/Yubel. He is the physical manifestation of heralding the return and restoration of all things; the shofar declaring its imminent arrival and His impending return.
The fact is, that all language needs a Voice, a Kol, and that voice also needs a frequency in the form of sounds to express itself.
To the foreigner another language sounds like nonsense; just a jumble of noise. But to the one who knows that language it makes perfect sense. This is true of all animals, birds, and sea life which communicate in their own way with sound; e.g the whales are even said to have a song.
So why would we not think the sound of a shofar would not communicate something to the listener as expelled by the blower?
The main KEY to this is Yom Kippur. The rams horn/SHOFAR is what ushers in and brings the Jubilee/Yovel.
Yom Kippur is the Key to Yovel.
Here is another key of light/revealed knowledge.
Jubilee represents the setting in motion of God’s purposes. It sets the stage, initiates and inaugurates the course; sets in motion a sequence of events, moving forward until the next Jubilee.
A sequence of prophetic purposes, that with the passage of time, will become increasingly manifest in the natural realm.
It’s the fruition of the seeds planted,
it sets in motion a new cycle,
it ends one and immediately begins another,
it opens up a new era,
it unleashes His appointed purposes.
It is a name based on the SHOFAR that was sounded to proclaim it’s coming. The year of YOVEL, when slaves and prisoners were set free; it is year of restoration.
The Jubilee/Yovel, can only begin
on one specific day.
Yom Kippur.
The Day of Atonement.
Why?
Because blessings can only come after being reconciled to God; and the only way that was possible was through the atonement.
So apart from Yom Kippur there can be no Jubilee. No atonement = no release, no freedom, and no restoration.
The atonement is the sacrifice of Messiah.
What is the Yovel key?
The key is Yom Kippur
because it brings the yovel,
the atonement, the at-one-ment.
Therefore if Messiah is the atonement and we are IN HIM, it could be said we also bring the Jubilee and the more we dwell in the atonement, the more we will live in the Jubilee.
To have the power of Jubilee means:
having the power to walk in freedom,
and the power of returning home,
the power of reconciliation,
the power of liberty and
the power to be restored to God-given inheritance.
To do this we must go deeper into Messiah, and into His atonement and this is achieved by way of relationship.
Deep calls to deep, and from Messiah comes our Jubilee because from Yom Kippur comes the Yovel.
Yud, Vav, Bet, Lamed.
As Yom Kippur is always preceded by trumpets which focuses on the end, it announces the closing of the annual sacred cycle.
The Shofar/trumpet will one day announce the coming of Kings and kingdoms. It is prophesied that when the Shofar trumpet sounds, the kingdom of God will come.
Shofar/trumpets call the people to gather before God. So it’s prophesied that at the sound of the Shofar/trumpet Gods’ people will be gathered up into His presence.
It’s a wake up call, and it will be enough to wake the dead!
And it will announce the start of a king’s reign.
Meaning: when it sounds, the reign of THE King will begin. The kingdom of this world will become the kingdom of the Lord.
These appointed times, are just as much a part of the new renewed covenant, as are the appointed days of spring. They are telling us, that faith is not only in what was, as in their fulfillment, but also of what is yet to come.
We live our lives FROM salvation and yet TO redemption. Our HOPE/TIKVAH is in the Lord.
it’s Hallow, Holy, as in set apart. The command is to separate out and to treat it differently than the 49 yrs that preceded it.
First it’s a kadosh/holy year unto the Lord like no other year.
This is true both for corporate and personal observation.
2nd it’s a proclamation of liberty, freedom.
3rd it’s all about the inhabitants and citizens (which we are spiritually grafted into) of Israel.
4th its about the multiplication of time. This time period is 7yrs and 7 is the number of completion. This Year is 5780. Meanings: grace, completion, new beginnings.
Lev. 25 :8-10, the Shofar is to be sounded and is based on mathematics: 7×7+1=50
5th thing is restoration
yod means to work pictured as a hand to do a deed to make something to accomplish a purpose.
VAV pictured as an iron nail; means to add, to secure, to join together, to bind together, to make a connection between 2 things which are separated from each other. It’s a wooden peg and a wooden hook and it means: to hold up.
BET has the idea of a child or family and it pictured as a tent or house; a picture of a dwelling place. It means inside and is the 1st letter in the Torah – Bereshit that identifies the Son of God.
LAMED pictured as the staff of a shepherd; means control, to have authority, to urge forward, it’s the voice of authority.
Putting these together is clearly supportive of the common meaning of
Jubilee: A divine/holy deed is being done that restores families to their homes where they are once again joined together and revived and renewed and regain the authority and control over the land and possessions that were once lost.
There’s a further apocalypse though, which does not focus on Israel and the land, or its restoration. Nor is it restricted to Israel or the Jewish people; this is because it is about the Messianic Jubilee.
The deeper significance is in the spiritual sense as a prophetic forecast. And its implications are more far reaching because it’s for all people, everywhere on the face of the earth. It is declaring that God has a divine plan that will be revealed and unfold at the appointed time/MOED; in order to deliver mankind from the wrath of God, the bondage of sin and eternal separation from His presence/throne in Shamayim/heavens.
This Jubilee will heal and restore the breach between people and their Creator, through the atoning sacrifice of Messiah. Only through the blood of Jesus/Yeshua shed at Calvary, are our sins forgiven. Then we are invited to be reunited with our Heavenly Father and adopted into the family of God and one day we will be in His presence eternally.
This is the freedom that is being declared in the shadow type of Jubilee; this is Jesus/Yeshua’s Jubilee/Yubel/Yovel, and the one that Jesus/Yeshua declared in Galilee, recorded in Luke 4:18,19 when He read from the Isaiah scroll.
Rom 10: 9-10 says that it was being fulfilled by Him.
Jesus/Yeshua is our Jubilee.
Lev. 25:10.
Our conventional understanding of 50 is 7×7 + 1.
7 is divine completion, but of what?
What is the meaning behind the numbers of Jubilee/YOVEL – 10 6 2 30?
Yod with a numerical value 10: the perfection of a divine order, completeness of divinely ordered events, completing an order.
One of 4 sacred numbers and means ordinal perfection.
Vav with a numerical value of 6: means enmity with God, weakness of man, imperfection and the manifestation of sin and the evils of satan/adversary. It also means to fall short, to labor, to sorrow. It’s the number of man’s secular completeness and therefore the number of mans world.
Bet 2 is the first number in which there is a division; it can have a dual meaning and is made up of 2 other numbers 1+1. It can mean to indicate a difference of opinion, e.g. evil vs. good; and indicates that another 1 can come alongside us, the second one, or someone who comes alongside, either to hinder, or to help/assist.
It also refers to part of the creator God as the Son, the living Word. He was there at the beginning, He is the Alef and Tav. It is revealed to us as a beautiful picture as it is the first number/letter in Torah. At the creation account, it is the first letter of the first word, Bereshit; not genesis. It is a letter B/bet/beyt, and is the picture of a house or tent and the number value of 2.
Both the picture and numerical value point to the Son of God. The only Son, the uncreated Son, who was the divinely conceived, Son of the Father.
Lamed 30 means blood sacrifice.
It is 3 x 10 – 3 is divine perfection and x10 = ordinal perfection.
The result being, the divine order is at a magnified perfection – marking the right time.
The fact that 3 and 10 are 2 of the sacred numbers and are in the root of Jubilee/Yubel, indicates that whatever is hidden in this number is of extreme significance.
There are other numbers that are related to the sequencing of time, 40, 50, 300 and 400 and all are divisible by 10. However, 10 is the only one regularly used in the scriptures as the divine prophetic multiplier.
10 forecasts there is a divine plan in place unfolding in time and space. It can also be taken with other numbers in the same word, to forecast a particular and precise period of time. Wherever a number can be divided by 10, it indicates that there is a revelation in that number, that has something to do with the 5 W’s. Those 5 being, the Who, theWhat, Where, When and Why; as related to the divinely ordained plan of God.
6 is mans number, and as 7 is a sacred number that reveals divine completion, so 6 falls short of God’s perfection.
1 = God, Humans are short of perfection by 1 because they are without God.
6 magnifies man’s imperfection and is the manifestation of man’s secular completion; and always comes to an end with sin, sorrow and failure. More than any other number, 6 is the one that reminds us that we are at enmity with God and unable in our own strengths, to bridge the gap. It also reminds us that we are travelers passing through man’s fallen and corrupt world. Friendship with the world is enmity with God. We can’t serve God and mammon and invariably our lives are ruled by one or the other.
As we have seen, HaYovel, which in Hebrew means The Jubilee;
pronounced: HA-yo-VEL.
יוֹבֵל lamed, bet, vav, yod, also has the meaning ram’s horn, trumpet.
Yovel or yobel {yob-ale’}; apparently from yabal; the blast of a horn (from its continuous sound); specifically, the signal of the silver trumpets; hence, the instrument itself and the festival thus introduced — jubile, ram’s horn, trumpet.
According to Jewish tradition, the reestablishment of the Biblically-mandated Jubilee year, is part of the Messianic process. In Judaism, it is a positive religious commandment “to sanctify the 50th year” (Leviticus 25:8).
When all the twelve tribes lived in Israel, in their ancestral estates, the year following seven complete Shemittah cycles—the fiftieth year—was observed as Yovel, the Jubilee year. During Yovel, too, the land was not worked, as during Shemittah.
The Shemitah, (sometimes spelled Shemittahor or Shmita), is the final year in a seven-year cycle of debt forgiveness and land use, prescribed for Israel in the Old Testament. Known also as the Sabbatical Year. The Sabbatical Year and The Jubilee Year (Yovel), provided for a period of both social equality and ecological recovery, a year of REST/SHALOM.
Most Hebrew scholars agree that the original meaning of the word ‘Yovel’ (Hebrew for ‘jubilee’) is ‘ram’ or ‘deer’, as can be found in the Book of Joshua: “Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of RAM’S horns before the ark.

Every 50th year is considered YOVEL, meaning, that all Jewish slaves are freed and that all land which has changed hands in the years since the last YOVEL now returns to the hands of its original owner.
Jubilee (biblical) The Jubilee ( Hebrew: יובל yōḇel; Yiddish: yoyvl) is the year at the end of seven cycles of shmita (Sabbatical years), and according to Biblical regulations had a special impact on the ownership and management of land in the Land of Israel;
Yovel’s origin and use are both in the Hebrew language. Yovel is a variant form of the English name Jubal. Modern Hebrew has adopted the European sense of the word, and a Yovel can mean the marking of any anniversary.
The name Jubilee is from the Hebrew word yovel, “ram’s horn,” the year being so called because a ram’s horn was sounded when it was proclaimed (Leviticus 25:9).
Hebrew: יובל yōḇel; Yiddish: yoyvl) is the year at the end of seven cycles of shmita (Sabbatical years).
When Yovel/Jubilee arrives, the Jewish slave becomes once again a free person, who is devoted only to the service of Adonai/the Lord, and not to a human master and so, liberty takes on a new meaning. However it does not mean ownerless, rather it means belonging to the rightful, natural Master.
At the end of days, when Messiah/Mashiach shall arrive, we will return to the Source, and our natural condition, an existence unencumbered by a Yetzer Hara, an existence in which our sole desire will be to derive pleasure from Our Heavenly Father’s infinite perfection.
Yetzer Hara in Hebrew: יֵצֶר הַרַע refers to the congenital inclination to do evil, by violating the will of God.
The term is drawn from the phrase: the imagination of the heart of man [is] evil. (Hebrew: יֵצֶר לֵב הָאָדָם רַע, yetzer lev-ha-adam ra).
The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
The yetzer hara represents the inner impulse or tendency within the human heart to gravitate toward selfish gratification (the word yetzer first appears in Genesis 6:5
The Yetzer HaTov, is the spirit, that tells us to do good and to be loyal to God; it’s the good inclination and inner impulse to do good.
So now we can see how Yovel is connected to the Fingerprint of God, the Keys of Light, the Shofar and Jubilee.
We are Yuval – led by Messiah Jesus/Yeshua.
Jesus/Yeshua is Jubilee/Yubel/Yovel/the Atonement/rams horn/Shofar who gave us the keys of His Kingdom, the keys of light and God’s fingerprint is on all of it.
We are in Jubilee and a divine/holy, set-apart deed is being done, as we work out our salvation, we are being restored to the Father and joined together into the family of God where all that was lost is regained, revived and renewed.
May the song of our life be as the sound of music to our Heavenly Father.
Shalom, shalom

It was at the sound
of His VOICE
that they
stood still
and
When they stood
they
let down their wings…
It’s a great example for us to follow
when we hear His VOICE…
we need to stand
and
let down our wings.
Though seeming to be stationary, a humming birds wings are fluttering very fast and even produce a sound.
The sound of movement –
stationary
but not still,
nor silent.
We are often in the posture of quiet and yet our wings are still fluttering, beating against the air of circumstances in our lifes’ situation
is a visual indication of trust in the safety of that place;
they do not have their wings moving in readiness for leaving, in haste, panic or fear.
The same is also true for us.
We need to get still enough to hear His voice to receive His direction and when we don’t, we go our own way, following our own thought in the matter and the result is disastrous and many times, we have to retrace our steps or go round that mountain one more time! And sometimes this is impossible and the result is devastating.
A helpful image of this is a wave made in a pool, which will move outwards to the perimeter and then rebound and return to the place it began. It takes time to return, depending on the distance to that boundary.
The ripples on the water are unavoidable and cause and effect is a result of all action, whether right or wrong, we set in motion a series of events that can have dire consequences; affecting so much else down the road where we cannot see.
This is why we need His guidance and plan for He is the same yesterday, today and forever and He sees where we don’t. Often our arrogance, combined with self-assured, prideful, self-confident, commonsense, is a recipe for disaster; especially with a lack of spiritual maturity or simply inexperienced youth, which has a tendency to know it all.
Romans 8:5-6 – For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Romans 12:2 – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Wasted energy and the time lost, plus resulting negative issues, could have been avoided
if we had simply
let down the wings of our spirit
and got quiet before Him.
Only then the still small voice of true shalom/peace
will softly break the silence
as
we wait in Him
in the shelter
of His presence/throne.
Wait I say wait on the Lord.
To wait on the Lord produces character in the life of the believer, in that it requires patience (James 1:4). Waiting involves the passage of time, which is itself a gift of God.
The word wait in the Bible carries the idea of confident expectation and hope.
Then and only then, (Ezekiel 1:20), can we go forward in the direction of His perfect will. Perfect because it is the best not only for us but also for those within the ripples created by our actions.
Those we initiate and which encompass all within our sphere of influence.
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Isaiah 40:31
Perhaps we are waiting on the Lord today for some special blessing in answer to prayer.
As we wait upon God, there are plenty of things we can do to stay strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. (Eph. 6:10) our time of waiting should not be viewed as wasted time.
Yea, wait thou for the LORD. Wait for the LORD; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD. Wait for the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, for the LORD. Ps 27:14
When we are pushed or pressed into doing or making things happen on our schedule – have to do it now – it’s never the Holy Spirit. Our impatient flesh will always offer a seemingly genuine and common sense reason! Flesh seldom hears God, or obeys His timing, it’s selfish and wants what it wants.. now.
If our impatient flesh acts without the spirit of God, it will, along with ourselves, often cause others to suffer and become a casualty of our irresponsible decisions. A loving parent will never tell one child to do something that will cause problems and hurt another one of their children, especially if it’s to fulfill a personal goal or dream as the expense of the other.
He has no favorites and
The action has a reaction and these two forces, called action and reaction forces and are the subject of Newton’s third law of motion which is: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The statement means that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects. For example: If you push on anything, it pushes back on you.
A better way to say it might be:
A force is exerted by one object on another object. Or: every force involves the interaction of two objects. When one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object also exerts a force on the first object. The two forces are equal in strength and oriented in opposite directions.
Why is this relevant?
It means that everything has consequences – nothing is an island unto itself – what we do always has an effect. It’s also true of the spiritual realm, our actions and prayers have both short and long term effects.
It also activates Gods law of like for like which is the essence of an eye for an eye idiom. What we sow we will reap whether we believe it or not, we will receive that harvest. Things may roll along for a while and seem fine but we mustn’t be deceived, God is not mocked and our actions will return back to us, according to His Word.
Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7
And many times the time between action and reaction is long enough that we don’t see the connection.
He did not say figure it out yourself, plan it and do it. He said wait, and our footsteps will be ordered of the Lord. Preempting His leading and timing is the enemy’s sneaky trick, for we will miss God’s best, even if at the time it seems like we did the right thing.
Our thinking, our way of being and doing, influencing and handling our circumstances directly to our benefit, never leads to His will. The world’s ways are not His ways and when one door closes, or the way forward is barred or difficult, we best not keep pushing to make one open just to get it done in our plan. The subtle danger is that the devil will always supply a solution but on his terms!
Ps 91 calls it the snare of the fowler, because its not a blatantly obvious trap.
His tactic is to catch men in his net.
The enemy plans way in advance as he covers the trap and net putting luring bait out. However, behind the scenes the enemy is there for the believers enticement and destruction.
He uses different weapons and agents in his kingdom to disturb people’s lives particularly the lives of the children of God and he is very intelligent at caging people’s destiny.
And he will supply plenty of circumstantial signs as confirmation, which is easy for him as he is master of the sense realm and is the god of this physical world.
However, the good news is that Ps 91 also promises, The Lord will keep you safe from secret traps,
IF
(conditional)
we dwell in the secret place of the Most High under the feathers of His Wings.
Many times we think we hear God and we are just hearing our own solution and maybe even a wrong whispering spirit telling us.. why wait, just do it anyway!
We lose nothing by waiting for it’s a clear demonstration of faith because His Spirit/Ruach is of Peace and patience and never pushes His way in our life.
Be still and know that I am – Anochi – God -Adonai. The revealing/apocalypse, only comes by patient, attentive, watching.
In the place of the letting down of wings…
The soul is stilled like a well-weaned child and in it we are fed and satisfied.
His presence filling our vessel so completely, that we overflow and pour out His goodness on those with who we are in close contact; as well as in our own life. And the place of His shalom becomes the place of His manifested presence.
When wings beat the air, although we cannot see it, the action moves the surrounding atmosphere regardless. Think of a fan whose blades beat the air and cause cooling streams to filter through the room. The same is true of our activity, while we continue to move, we disturb the very atmosphere, which surrounds us.
He said
BE Still
not
be busy!
Be still my soul… and as we bring the body into subjection, as we quiet the noisy tumult and detach from exterior elements that result in interference; then we can be still and know that He is God
Let Him – allow His Ruach haKodesh – to pour oil on troubled waters ..
It’s time to let down the wings of our heart and let Him in and rest in His presence/before His throne.
The Prince of Peace – Sar Shalom always moves in Peace/Shalom – never in a hurry.
A change in the way we think is the most important aspect of real repentance and of being a true disciple. When we miss it, being quick to repent and get it right. Mark gives examples of the most basic attitudes and passions that are (evil)/(out of harmony) with God and can dominate our thinking and behavior:
“. . . adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man” ( Mark 7:21-23 ).
This is why we need HaMakom…
where Messiahs blood cries mercy and pardon and redemption. (Hebrews 12:18-25)
There is no substitute to
the letting down of wings
– spending time with Our Father, for this is how we will truly know the Voice of Adonai.
Proximity = Nearness in place, time, order, occurrence or relation. There was a time when only the High Priest could access His presence, BUT, because of Messiah Jesus/Yeshua’s sacrifice, today anyone can come to the mercy seat to be in God’s presence.
John 10:27– My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
How do the sheep know the shepherd’s voice?
He has been with them daily since they were lambs. He’s led them to their food, protected them from harm and mended their wounds. They have spent their lives with their shepherd.
Spending time with our Heavenly Father is similar to the action of getting to know the voice of a friend or relative, it starts by hearing what they are saying.
As we read the Word of God we are training ourselves to know what the Lord/Adonai has said. It enables us to know if something lines up with who He is.
He wants us to make a habit of talking with Him. This means just what it says, talk to Him which is commonly called Prayer. Prayer in essence is talking to the Lord, share with Him our heart, joys and pains and listen for His voice.
We need to be encouraged to begin talking to and with the Lord.
Spend time reading the Scriptures, share our heart with Him.
Let’s not focus on getting things from the Lord but on knowing Him…
For there are many benefits from being under the wings, and nestled within the feathers.
Healing, protection, safety, closeness, warm and being fed, as well as renewing our strength.
From this it is clear that..
in a particular place – ha makem –
המקום
This place is before His throne
His throne is His presence
When we hear His voice from the expanse of the heavens
We stand still and let down our wings
In an attitude of reverent trusting shalom
It is accessed through His Mercy by
the Grace provided in Jesus/Yeshuas’ blood
and this is the secret place of the most high, when our wings are silent and still and we are safe and secure in the camp, under the canopy of His overshadowing protective love.
It’s time to trust Him
Shalom Mishpachah/Family!
Please don’t leave this page until you make certain Messiah Jesus/Yeshua is your Redeemer, Savior, Lord and soon returning King and that you have a personal relationship with Him.
It’s all about Life and Relationship, NOT Religion.
You are greatly loved and precious in His sight.
NOT SURE? YOU CAN BE..
SAY THE FOLLOWING FROM YOUR HEART RIGHT NOW…
Heavenly Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus/Yeshua asking for forgiveness of my sins for which I am truly sorry.
Amen.
