arbaim: forty
Original Word: אַרְבָּעִים Part of Speech: noun plural indeclinable Transliteration: arbaim Phonetic Spelling: ar-baw-eem’ Definition: forty
The number 40 is associated with seasons of probation and preparation where spiritual awareness is deepened. It also represents a time of leadership, fasting and victory as well as testings of faith, trials and chastisement. This chastisement is not the same as judgment, like the association represented by the number 9 which operates in connection with punishment of enemies; but rather is in connection to the chastisement of sons, family and of a covenant people who are loved.
As we are in the days of counting from the Omer, which comprise 7×7 weeks, equaling 49 days and on the 50th day is Pentecost/Shavuot. We are aware of the 40 days that Messiah remained with His disciples/talmidim after His resurrection and appeared to many.
As Shavuot/Penetcost is also the Moed/Appointed Time of remembering the giving of Torah to Moses/Moshe. We remember that Moses was called up onto Mount Sinai. Exodus 19:1-3 Moses went up the mountain and in v14 he came down; then in verse 20 he goes up the mountain again -25.
He goes up the mountain in Ex. 24:1-3 with others plus the 70 elders. In verse 9, they ate and drank. Moses went up in verse 12 -18 and stayed 40 days and forty nights; then in chapter 32:15 he came down again.
In chapter 34:1-4 it is recorded that Moses went up the mountain again. In verse 18 he was instructed to keep the feast of matzah. In 34:10 God says: I am making covenant. From verse 22 to verse 27 it records Moses was another 40 days and 40 nights on Mt Sinai and verse 29 tells us when Moses came down his face was shining.
Moses was up and down Mt Sinai several times and twice for 40 days and nights.

The first 40 years of Moses’ life entails him from growing up in Pharaoh’s royal household and living in Egypt until he slays a man and has to flee to Midian.
The second part of his life is spent as a shepherd in Midian tending Jethroes sheep in the wilderness, until God calls him at age 80 (2×40), to deliver the Israelites from Egyptian bondage.
During the last third of his life he leads the Israelites out of Egypt and through the wilderness until he dies at age 120. 3×40 years.
Deut. 34:7
40 years is also applied as encompassing a generation according to Numbers 14:26-38 as with the children of Israel 40 years wandering while the generation died out.

16 Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? 17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies
Hebrews 3:16 -4:11
Your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness, and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, who have murmured against Me . . .

In the Hebrew AlefBet, the 13th Hebrew letter called Mem, has the numerical value of 40 and is thereby associated with the following: 40 days and nights of flood waters; 40 years in the wilderness; 2×40 days Moses was on Mt Sinai.
Traditionally the letter Mem has several related meanings: waters, people, nations, languages and tongues.
The name of the letter in its most ancient form resembles waves of water. With this in mind such sayings as: sea of torah, the ocean of knowledge and wisdom are often used.
Mem is regarded as the letter of water/mayim; symbolizing the spring of the Torah – Rivers of Living water, i.e. Gods Word. Just as the waters of an underground spring rise upward from an unknown source to reveal themselves, so does the spring of wisdom rise up from the mysterious Source that is our Heavenly Father. This flowing stream of the inner wisdom can be expressed through the gift of human speech. Proverbs 18:4 the words a man speaks are deep waters, a flowing stream, a fountain of wisdom.
In the Hebrew alef -bet, the letter Mem has 2 forms when it is written: an open form and a closed form.
The open form, peucha, is said to represent the revealed truth of God as demonstrated by Moshe/Moses. The use of the closed letter Mem, stumah, is said to represent the concealed truth of our Heavenly Father as was demonstrated by Yeshua/Jesus, the revealer of mysteries.
Matthew 13:10–11 10. The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” 11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.”

The Hebrew word ephah, Strong’s Concordance #H374, is written 40 times in 29 Hebrew Old Testament verses. Its spelling stays the same in the KJV. It is found the most in Ezekiel (17 times) followed by the book of Zechariah (5).
An ephah is used in Scripture as a measure of dry goods such as flour, barley meal, parched corn, wheat and so on. It is roughly equivalent to 22 liters or 20 dry quarts. One of its first uses is in the book of Leviticus.
But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering . . . Leviticus 5:11, KJV.

The Jews would later change this to 39 stripes in order not to exceed this amount per Deuteronomy 25:3. Both Messiah and the Apostle Paul were scourged five times by the Jews for preaching the gospel. 2Corinthians 11:23 – 24.
The Bible was written by 40 different people. There were 32 writers of the Old Testament and only 8; Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, James, Peter, Jude, and Paul of the New.
A brief note on the covenants.
The Mosaic covenant, Ex 19:3-6, on the basis of the Abrahamic covenant and promise made to Abraham in Gen.15; God delivered the children of Israel from Egypt and established another covenant with them at Sinai. God used Moses as the deliverer and mediator of this covenant between Israel and Himself. It’s not a covenant of salvation but instead a covenant of blessing and cursing based on trusting and faithfulness on Israels part. The Mosaic covenant is similar to a marriage covenant/contract. This is called a Ketubah or a vassal treaty between God as husband and king, and Israel as His wife and people. It spells out the boundaries and guidelines of the relationship between them, and is summarized in Ex. 19 and 20. The Mosaic covenant includes blessings and security in the land for faithful obedience, Deut. 28; and curses and exile for faithless disobedience. Deut. 27.
The Mosaic Covenant further includes a promise that even though Israel will not keep this covenant fully, and will ultimately be removed from the land; God will not completely forsake them, but He will punish them and scatter them among the nations. From their exile God will circumcise their hearts and they will return to Him in repentance/teshuvah. The Lord will gather Israel back and atone for His people and the land. Deut. 30-33. This promise is to confirm and keep His promise to Abraham. This generation that made the covenant with God at Sinai was not able to enter into the land. The next generation reaffirmed the covenant and entered the land under Joshua, who was a type of Messiah Yeshua/Jesus. Each generation of Israel in the land and diaspora must confirm the Abrahamic Covenant by the circumcision of their males; and confirm the Mosaic Covenant by binding the words of God on their foreheads, called teffilim. Though they waver in their faithfulness to the covenant, God remains faithful.
The promises of this covenant must be fulfilled. Messiah Yeshua/Jesus says in Matt. 5:17-19 that until heaven and earth pass away based on the covenant with Noah, the smallest letter or stroke of letter will not pass from the Torah /Mosaic covenant until it is all fulfilled.
Our Heavenly Father said through His prophets that, as long as the heavens and the earth remains, consistent with the Noahide Covenant, Israel would remain a people before Him. The Mosaic covenant is not a replacement of the covenants with Noah and Abraham. It is dependent upon them and along with them is presently in effect. The Davidic covenant also affirms and expresses the earlier covenants. Therefore the new covenant fulfills, adds to and completes, rather than merely replacing the previous covenants. Some denominations are mistaken when they claim that the new has replaced the covenant made between Moses and the children of Israel and God at Sinai. It is simply renewed and added onto the existing covenants, line upon line and precept upon precept. Messiah Yeshua/Jesus came to show us how to live them and complete them according to Gods teachings, ways and decrees, not mans rules regulations and laws.
The Highlight of Revelation, Sinai and the Messiah – Exodus 19:6
When the children of Israel arrived at Mount Sinai, Adonai made Himself known to all those people and gave them the Torah by the hand of Moses. Jewish tradition says that this encounter occurred on Pentecost/Shavuot – the Festival of Harvest or Weeks, based on the chronology and Exodus 19:1, 10–16.
Since the event is the highlight of God’s revelation to Israel, it is also known as the Festival of Revelation. At a earlier occasion when Moses encountered the burning bush, God declared that Mt. Sinai was the goal of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt. When you have let the people out of Egypt you will worship me on this mountain. Exodus 3:12.
Throughout the Exodus story leading up to this climax, the Lord repeatedly declares that He will make Himself known both to the children of Israel; Exodus 6:7, 10, 29:46; 31:13 and to the Egyptians, Exodus 7:5, 17, 9:29, by His Mighty acts of deliverance. At Mount Sinai this process of self revelation reaches its climax, as all Israel witnesses God’s presence on the mountain. Exodus 19 Deuteronomy 5:2. They accept God’s instruction contained within the Torah. Exodus 24:3 –8
According to Jewish commentators the fact that the nation of Israel witnessed the Lord speaking to Moses from Mt. Sinai, established the Torah as Gods Word; a Word that includes Gods call to Israel to be a kingdom of priests /cohanim.
For me a nation set apart. Exodus 19:6.
Ex. 19:5 -7 the children of Israel and their 12 tribes were supposed to be a whole nation of priests, a kingdom of priests/cohanim, but it ended up with only the Levites being the priestly tribe out of 12 sons and their families.
Messiah Yeshua/Jesus Himself, is an even higher pinnacle of revelation. He doesn’t supersede Torah but rather embodies and perfectly fulfills/completes it. He has made His Word above His Name. Psalm 138:2 For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. |
Like Israel, called to be a nation of priests at Mount Sinai, and although they do not replace the nation of Israel, Messiahs followers are also a chosen people, the Kings Cohanim/priests, a holy nation, a people for God to process.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1Peter 2:9

Original Word:פָנִים Transliteration: panim or paneh Phonetic Spelling: paw-neem’
Hebrew Rabbis teach that the words we have in English Bibles translated as
Plural (but always as singular) of an unused noun (paneh {paw-neh’}; from panah); the face (as the part that turns); used in a great variety of applications (literally and figuratively); also (with prepositional prefix) as a preposition (before, etc.) — + accept, a-(be-)fore(-time), against, anger, X as (long as), at, + battle, + because (of), + beseech, countenance, edge, + employ, endure, + enquire, face, favour, fear of, for, forefront(-part), form(-er time, -ward), from, front, heaviness, X him(-self), + honourable, + impudent, + in, it, look(-eth) (- s), X me, + meet, X more than, mouth, of, off, (of) old (time), X on, open, + out of, over against, the partial, person, + please, presence, propect, was purposed, by reason of, + regard, right forth, + serve, X shewbread, sight, state, straight, + street, X thee, X them(-selves), through (+ – out), till, time(-s) past, (un-)to(-ward), + upon, upside (+ down), WITH (-within, + -stand), X ye, X you.
This changes the perspective
of Abram’s relationship with the
Almighty God – El Shaddai –
which we render as:
the all sufficient God
or the Almighty-Breasty-One.
The Hebrew language incorporates numerical value to letters and words and it is understood that the number
9 is the number of completion
and
90 is the number of Humility.
According to this it would indicate that when Abram became
99, complete in humility,
he recognized and understood that God was truly
El Shaddai – all-sufficient
and he could
walk WITH God.
Torah scholars definition of humility is that, we are not for one moment to be trusting in self, in the arm of flesh, our own capabilities, knowledge, talents or any kind of security we have built; or any dependence on wealth or provision from any source other than the Lord/El Shaddai.
It is having complete total TRUST in our
Heavenly Father as El Shaddai,
to be all-sufficient for us.
We are to put our trust/batak in our Heavenly Father as He and Abram did. Messiah never put His trust in people because He knew and understood the shortcomings and weaknesses of the fallen human nature.
Jesus didn’t commit Himself to them. John 2:24,25.
He was never suspicious, yet He was discerning and wise.
He was never bitter, resentful or offended, nor did He take vengeance toward anyone; and yet at the same time, He never gave up hope for them.
Why?
Because His BATAK/TRUST
was totally and completely in His Father first.
If we place our trust in people before Him and not in the Father, we will quickly experience despair, hopelessness and disappointment towards them. This can lead to bitterness and resentment because they didn’t measure up to how they presented themselves. Understanding that not one individual, except Messiah Yeshua/Jesus, can ever be right or perfect in this life, prevents the negative assessments in others. The only part of a person or ourself we can trust, is God’s spirit of grace and mercy in us.
Hebrews 10:9. He came to do God’s will.
An individual’s obedience is to what they see and determine to be a need. Messiah’s obedience was to His/our Fathers will. To seek and save the lost and tell the heathen about Him. However, first we are to make sure that God’s needs and His will in us personally are being met. Jesus/Yeshua said for us to be mindful of this in Matthew 6:5-15
7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.9 Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.[a] 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done,[b] on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread,[c] 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.[d]
14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
The purpose of our training as His disciples, is to get us into the right relationship towards the needs of our Heavenly Father and His will, plan and purposes, NOT ours. Once our Father’s needs in us have been met, He will then open the way for us to accomplish His will, which is meeting His needs, plan and purposes somewhere else.
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18
We are also to remember that He said: Matthew 18:5 who ever receives one little child in my name receives me.
Messiah came as a child Himself. He is entrusting Himself to each of us and desiring our individual lives to be a Bethlehem; where He can grow up, where the natural life could be slowly transformed by the indwelling life of the Son of God. His ultimate purpose is that the life of Messiah be manifest in and through us. The same life/ chaim that was in Him can also be in us, by the power of HIs Holy Spirit, just as it was in
Luke 1:41. and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh.
And we are to be always ready with a listening ear for the slightest whisper of His Voice/kol, calling to us. In the Song of Solomon there is a verse that says:
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land; 2:12
A season of the voice of Messiah, the bridegroom is calling.
This season is also a time of pruning, to bear more fruit for His Kingdom.
The dove, Yonah (Jonah) in Hebrew, reminds us that Messiah Jesus pointed to Noah and Jonah as end-times signs.
The dove was a sign for Noah and Yonah/Jonah/Dove
was a sign to the people of Nineveh
to repent and turn to the Lord before His judgment came.
Matthew 12:39; 24:37.
The entire book of the Song of Solomon is a picture of Messiah’s love for His bride; into whom we are grafted and His voice calls to us in unconditional love and devotion. He is calling to His Bride.
Those who truly love Him will respond to His loving call.
Like always attracts like- what is common between people will draw like a magnet, just like the old saying, birds of a feather flock together.
Like desires, like lifestyle, like interests, like goals, etc.
If you ever feel you don’t fit, like you are a square peg in a round hole, then you’re probably in the wrong place with the wrong group. The Spirit of God within people draws them together.
Phil. 2:2-8. fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit.
1Pet 3:8 Finally, all of you be like-minded [united in spirit], sympathetic, brotherly, tender-hearted, and humble in spirit;
Romans 15:5 Now the God of endurance and of encouragement give to you to be like-minded one toward another, according to Christ Jesus;
2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brothers, rejoice. Be perfected, be comforted, be of the same mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
We are to have Messiah as the center and the priority of our lives.
Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, by the Holy Spirit which is given to us and like Elizabeth/ John leaped when in the presence of his Messiah.
We too have that inner knowing… we are one in Him with fellow believers/ disciples and love has always been the test of true discipleship.
Those listening to the voice of their beloved, will not be deafened by the cries of man. In a world filled with noise, all clamoring for our attention; we need to hear only the voice of our beloved and those who love Him will hear and recognize His voice and will respond just like the sheep. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me John 10:27
They will even hear the tender gentle cooing of the turtledove above the chaos of the world busyness. And just as Elizabeth’s inner involuntary response was to the close presence of Messiah within Mary.
We are up to watch for Him, wait for Him, with baited breath, and anticipation as the bride for her groom; and as we do, our heart will not only listen for Him… our hearts will hear.
There are times when many bewildering experiences challenge the peace/shalom in our souls; however, when we truly love Him and are listening, and our spirits are submitted to Him willingly, He works all things together for good.
Just as the scripture records the story of Joseph in Genesis 50:20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
God has His Plan and purposes, His ways are not our ways.
’For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the LORD. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts’” Isaiah.55:8,9.
The one who truly loves Him submits to His discipline and chastening, also called pruning, shaking and sifting. His love holds us steady beneath the chastening rod.
“I will make you pass under the rod [as the shepherd does with his sheep when he counts them, and I will count you as Mine and constrain you] and bring you into the bond of the covenant.
Ezekiel 20:37-38
The verse says that the sheep
pass under the rod.
Besides being an instrument of both offense and defense, the rod was, in effect, a two-foot club;
it also functioned as a tool, under which the sheep passed.
What does this picture?
First of all, it pictures counting. The shepherd would count the sheep in his flock to make sure they were all present and accounted for.
This is also a picture of something else, because as the sheep passed under the rod, which is a symbol of the Word of God, they would undergo a very close examination. The shepherd would run his rod backward or across the sheeps body, which separated the wool. This action allowed the shepherd to look down onto the sheep’s skin, enabling him to see both the condition of the wool and the skin which was hidden beneath.
Our Savior the Good Shepherd, is illustrating that by means of His rod, He is giving us a careful, close examination: it gives Him the opportunity to check the quality of His sheep and it also provides a means of separation. As His disciples, both quality and separation are the reasons that He carefully examines us. The rod and the path it leads us on, will take us to deep and difficult places, taking us right into the hidden man of the heart where holiness is formed.
In Matthew 25 we read of the separation of the sheep and the goats. The rod helps to identify, or is a means of making sure of ownership. Sheep’s ears were often bored through or distinctively notched as an identifying mark. When the shepherds could not always clearly see the identifying mark because several flocks had mixed together in the fields, they would make the sheep
pass under the rod.
When they did, the shepherd would flip back the EAR to see the mark of ownership. Again, it also gave them a chance to examine and check the health and quality of each of the sheep.
Note the EAR… that listens and hears!
Right now we are all
Because now,
this season,
is the time of our judgment – I Peter 4:17,
and we are being evaluated to make it clear to whom we really belong: the Heavenly Father or the adversary.
Who is our Shepherd?
Who are we following?
The rod is a vitally important instrument for a shepherd and no good shepherd would be without one.
This process is critical and should not be avoided but rather welcomed because it means He loves us.
Hebrews 12:6 For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises every son He receives.” because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11
1Corinthians 13:7 because love believes and hopes and all things and love will never fail.
Love endures what ever comes. It seeks not its own doesn’t retaliate because it rests in Him rather than in the circumstance. As long as we are focused on and our desires are fulfilled in him we will never be deprived of comfort.
Luke 1: 53
He who goes away Will always be empty in spite of his riches. He who seeks the Lord first will never be unhappy or poor.
David said in Psalm 146:3 Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation–
6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them, Who keeps truth and is faithful forever,
What is first in our lives?
We must trust in Him 1st
We must put His will 1st.
We must put Messiah 1st.
The questions we should and indeed
must ask ourselves are:
Are we 99 yet?
and are we in other words,
at a place where we are
walking before/WITH the Lord El Shaddai?
Is He all sufficient to us?
Are we doing Gods will for our lives?
Are we hearing His voice directing our path or our own choices of future plans?
Will we respond to His loving call?
Are we watching for Him, waiting for Him, with baited breath,
and anticipation, as the bride for her groom?
Can we say with the Shulamite?
The dove
was a sign for Noah and Yonah/Jonah/Dove
pruning before He returns…
Are we willing to be sifted like the disciples?
Luke 22:31
Are we truly 99 – complete in humility, yet?
If we are obedient and willing
we shall eat the good of the land
and we will be ready to walk WITH Him.
Shalom aleikhem
chaverim/friends and mishpachah/family!
Shavua Tov, Have a blessed week,
you are greatly loved and prayed for.
Please don’t leave here without assurance of your salvation
Not sure ..you can be…
Make certain Messiah Jesus/Yeshua is your Redeemer,
Savior, Lord, and soon returning King
and that you have a personal relationship with Him.
It’s all about Life and Relationship, NOT Religion.
You are very precious in His sight.
SIMPLY SAY THE FOLLOWING MEANING IT FROM YOUR HEART..
don’t delay one more minute,
SAY IT RIGHT NOW…
Heavenly Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus/Yeshua asking for forgiveness of my sins for which I am truly sorry. I repent of them all and turn away from my past.
I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus/Yeshua is your Son and that He died on the cross at calvary to pay the price for my sin, so that I might be forgiven and have eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven. Father I believe that Jesus/Yeshua rose from the dead and I ask you to come into my life right now and be my personal Savior and Lord and I will worship you all the days of my life. Because your word is truth I say that I am now forgiven and born again and by faith I am washed clean with the blood of Jesus/Yeshua. Thank you that you have accepted me into your family in Jesus’/Yeshua’s name.
There was a day that the disciples were discussing who was the greatest among them.
Luke 9;46-48 46 An argument arose among them as to which of them was the greatest.47 But Jesus, knowing the reasoning of their hearts, took a child and put him by his side 48 and said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For he who is least among you all is the one who is great.
Mark 9:33-37 33 And they came to Capernaum. And when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you discussing on the way?” 34 But they kept silent, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest.35 And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” 36 And he took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them, 37 “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.”
Mathew 18:1-5 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them 3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.5 “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me,
In Mark 10:35 Two of the disciples James and John had a mother who wanted the prime place for them beside Yeshua/Jesus in His coming Kingdom.
Then Salome the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons James and John and knelt down to make a request of Him. And He said to her, “What do you wish?” She said to Him, “Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.”
23“You will indeed drink My cup,” Jesus said. “But to sit at My right or left is not Mine to grant. These seats belong to those for whom My Father has prepared them.”
And when the ten heard it, they were greatly displeased with the two brothers.
Messiah sat down with the 12 in Matthew 20:25,26
But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.
Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.
Whoever wishes to be 1st or greater than everyone else will be last of all, servant of all.
We are to grab on to Yeshua/Jesus, its not about us, or about being great, or first, or the best, or the greatest; it’s about Him and the Father; for if we take hold of Him we are taking hold of the One who sent Him.
Mark 9:37 “Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.”
Mark 10:35
Yeshua/Jesus went on to say more about
greater than:
Matt. 12: 41, The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.
Luke 11 32. The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
Matt. 12:6. “But I say to you that there is something greater than the Temple here.”
6. wa’ani ‘omer lakem ki yesh-poh gadol min-haMiq’dash.
The temple was a building made with human hands Yeshua/Jesus came to destroy that physical structure and replace it with Himself through His resurrected body and the release of His Ruach.
He not only filled the building/house they were in, (Acts.) but the physical body their spirits were indwelling.
This He has done for us.
Now we are the temple/the sanctuary/the inner holy of holies
where He abides with every true believer.
He does not live in a sanctuary made with human hands. Acts 17:24
The word temple is sanctuary
and that is where His Ruach HaKodesh, the presence of our Heavenly Father was, in the ark located inside the holy of holies; now the sanctuary/temple is in us and there is no need for a physical building because we are the lively stones.
Jonah was a prophet, however he was also not very quick to obey; and being disobedient, he ran in the opposite direction from his assignment and ended up in the belly of a whale!
When he did finally obey, he was irritated that the people heard him and repented. He was more concerned about saving face than saving souls. Yeshua/Jesus made Himself of no reputation and loved not His life unto death. He set His face towards Jerusalem in obedience to His Father and did not run from His destiny knowing what He was to face after Moses and Elijah had been discussing His situation on the Mt of Transfiguration. Matt. 17, Mark 9, Luke 9.
His flesh would have preferred to have the cup pass from Him
…if it be possible, let this cup pass from me …” Matthew 26:39.
yet He still submitted willingly to the Fathers plan and purpose. Learning obedience by the things He suffered.
7. During the days of Jesus’ earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.
8.Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; Hebrews 5:8.
The words in verse 8 may be connected with what was written in the previous verse, 7, which implied that He was heard for His reverent fear, not because, in the preeminent sense, He was God’s Son.
This puts a greater demand on us also, to always be in the correct attitude toward our Heavenly Father showing reverent respect for Who He is.

greater than
Yonah/Jonah who was in the belly of a whale is
Jesus/Yeshua
Who went into the belly of the earth
and both came forth to victory.
However Yonah/Jonah was mentioned by name from the lips of Messiah as a reference point to His own death, burial and resurrection. The number of days in the belly of the earth.
He said this will be the only sign for a wicked and adulterous generation. Below are some of the signs given for the generation that
seeks after a sign..
Jonah/Yonah spent three days inside the belly of a great fish because of his own sinfulness and rebellion.
Yeshua/Jesus spent three days inside the belly of the earth because of our sin and rebellion.
Yonah/Jonah ran from the difficult calling God gave Him. Jonah 1:3
Yeshua/Jesus perfectly obeyed the Father’s will, coming to earth and dying on the cross.
Jonah was asleep on the ship during a storm caused by his own disobedience and was eventually thrown overboard. Jonah 1:4-12.
Yeshua/Jesus slept on a boat during a storm, and rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.Mark 4:35-41.
The difference was that Yonah/Jonah was the cause of a storm. Yeshua/Jesus had authority over the storm.
Yonah/Jonah feared the Creator
Who had authority on earth. Jonah 1:9.
Yeshua/Jesus is the Creatorwith all authority over heaven and earth. John 1:3; Matthew 28:18.
While he was inside the fish, Yonah/Jonah knew thatSalvation belongs to the Lord. Jonah 2:9.
Yeshua/Jesus’ name means Yahweh saves.
ישוע
Yeshua/Jesus is the way of salvation.Hebrews 5:9; Acts 4:12.
Yonah/Jonah became angry with God for showing grace toward repentant sinners. Jonah 4:2.
The name Solomon means Recompense, or Fair Penalty.
Solomon (Σολομών) is also ancient Koine Greek name, derived from 3rd cent. B.C.E. Septuagint translation of the Hebrew name שְׁלֹמֹה (Shelomoh).
W’hinneh phoh gadol mish’lomoh
One greater than Solomon is here.
He was the king of Israel, the son of David and asked YHVH
only for wisdom to rule His people.
Solomon was the wisest that lived … yet, Yeshua/Jesus said
one greater that Solomon is here.
The Queen of the south came..
to hear the wisdom of Solomon/Shelomoh.
lish’mo`a ‘eth-chak’math Sh’lomoh
The wisdom of God was in Jesus/Yeshua
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. Luke 2:52
and therefore His wisdom was directly from His Father I and the Father are one.
So His wisdom was
greater than
that of Solomon.
James said if any of us lack wisdom we should ask and the Father will impart it to us.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Jam.1:5
and yet Solomon/Shelomoh ended with the view
that all is vanity worthless and declared
there is nothing new under the sun…
that should make us think!

Moshe/Moses is here.
The name Moses
is written in the Hebrew Bible as
משה
mosheh,
Strong’s #4872
This name is derived from the Hebrew verb
משה
M.Sh.H, Strong’s #4871
meaning “to draw out.”
Mosheh was named such,
because the Pharaoh’s daughter
“drew him out of the water”
Exodus 2:10.
A prophet like unto Moses
משה
The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, Deut.18:15
Moses led the people out of bondage. He stood before the face of the Lord God/YHVH and received the 10 sayings that they were to live by and to follow the feasts annually in preparation for the wedding. Recall they were betrothed to the Lord at that time and Jesus/Yeshua came saying that, He was the bridegroom…in answer to the ? about why His disciples were not fasting.
He came to fulfill the law, the torah, the teaching, and to fulfill the feasts that were set in place. Moses/Moshe was the agent of deliverance for the children of Israel; their salvation from bondage to Egypt came through His obedience… a type of Jesus/Yeshua in the Re-New –ed Covenant.
The Father caused the waters before Moshe/Moses to be split – to make a WAY for them to go forward in order to meet with YHVH at Sinai and be betrothed to Him through covenant.
The children of Israel were to focus on Moses and the journey NOT on the enemies pursuing them. Just as we are to focus on Yeshua/Jesus and in the same way the waters split leaving Egypt and at the river Jordan entering the Promised land….
The veil in the temple split as Messiah Jesus/Yeshua made the Way – opening access back up to the Father on the cross for us.
So we can become part of that bride awaiting the return of her bridegroom.
Their deliverance was in the physical; ours is in the spiritual. An eternal relationship

He was the last Adam
אדם
The Hebrew word
אדמה
adamah
is the feminine form of
אדם
meaning
ground
Genesis 2:7.
The word/name
אדום
Edom
means
red.
Each of these words has the common meaning of
red.
Dam is the “red” blood,
adamah is the “red” ground,
edom is the color “red”
and adam is the “red” man.
The Hebrew word
adam is translated either as man or Adam
depending on context and on the presence or lack of the definite article (“the” in English, ha in Hebrew).
So ha-adam is translated usually as the man
(referring to either an unspecified man or to mankind as a whole, depending on context),
The Hebrew letter Mem as the last letter in Adam’s name discloses what is at the end of the PATH that Adam chooses. Mem.
Mem is pictured as WATERS.
Mem can mean the Waters of Life as pictured by as the gentle rain, a clear spring, running brook or a gently flowing stream as well as storm.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Romans 5:12

the last Adam came and caused everyone that believes and recieves Him to be born again in to life and be free redeemed from sin and death.

Yochanan HaMatbil
יוחנן המטביל
Yochanan/Johns birth was a miracle
and His name was supernaturally given.
The name John has a long history that traces back to
the Hebrew name
יוחנן Yôḥānnān,
which means
Yahweh is gracious.
John the Baptist:
Yochanan HaMatbil –
יוחנן המטביל
John: Yochanan יוחנן
Yo = God,
Chanan = to bless; to amnesty
Baptist: Matbil [מטביל]
From the root T.B.L- to immerse; to baptize:
John is Yawchanan or יוחנן
John/Yochanan came in the spirit and power of Elijah and Jesus said..
And if ye are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, that is to come.
Matthew 11:14
&
But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but they did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of Man is about to suffer at their hands.’. Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist” Matthew 17:12-13.
As was prophesied in Malachi 3:23
Now I am sending to you Elijah the prophet, Before the day of the Lord comes, the great and terrible day; 24 He will turn the heart of fathers to their sons, and the heart of sons to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the land with utter destruction.
John/Yochanan the forerunner He described the One who was coming after him He was the voice in the wilderness crying repent return to the Lord prepare the way for Him…
This is what John preached to the people: “There is one coming after me who is ·greater
[mightier; more powerful] than I;
I am not ·good enough [fit; qualified] even to kneel down and untie [L the thong/strap of] his sandals [C a task of a servant or slave]. Mark 1:7
Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world.
Luke 7:28
Yeshua/Jesus said none born

Thank you that you have accepted me into your family in Jesus’/Yeshua’s name. Amen.
We are a curious people always wanting to know what’s coming or to provide proof of something.
The people of Jesus/Yeshua’s day were no different and they asked Him to prove He was who He said He was.
The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and testing him desired that he would show them a sign from heaven. Matt 16:1-4
He replied with
Matt 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
The signs were all around them. Many were expecting the Messiah and watching for Him. Jesus/Yeshua uses their ‘discerning of the weather’ as an example of how every sign-oth, that they need has already been produced and yet their hearts are hard and closed to it.
He was the Word made flesh – the living Word
He said The scriptures speak of me
which is ALL of them from Genesis/ Bereshyt – beginning
Below is the meaning of the letters of the word Genesis in Paleo Hebrew letters:
and to the end – alef to tav.
The alphabet/alef-bet and Alpha -Omega.
He was and IS the Word
The oth
the sacred sign – oth
oath – covenant
He was the fulfillment of the re-newed covenant –
HE WAS the SIGN – OTH – Covenant.
That which they knew of Jonah was about to be realized in their Messiah but they could not see Him
This is why the Torah, the Prophets and Writings in the Bible – Old Testament/Covenant and New Testament/Covenant
is
a living testimony – a living book/scroll.
In him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:1-5
The phrase and the life was the light of menis in the Greek imperfect tense. This means thatthe lifebegan to be the light of men in the past and continues to be so in the present time. The Son of God is the source and essence of life itself.
The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple Ps. 119:130
Your word is a light to my path – Way – Derech. Ps. 119:105
God is Light and in the beginning was the Word and the Word was God. John 1:1
The assertion now,isTHATLIFE, ζωή-Zoe, with all it’s manifestations and in all it’s regions; that the life of plant, tree, and animal, the life of man, of society, that the life of the body, soul, and spirit, the life transitory and the life eternal (ζωὴ αἰώνιος), was in the Logos, who was God and in the beginning with God.
Proverbs 4:22 Says, “For they (His Words) are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”
He is the living word and the scriptures
Jesus/Yeshua often referred to the Scripture (the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms) as evidence for His Messiahship.
He taught that they would all be fulfilled in Him (John 10:35; Matthew 5:18).
The Old Testament Scriptures spoke of Messiah Jesus/Yeshua, pointing us to Him.
Speaking to those who opposed Him, Jesus/Yeshua said,
“Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me” (John 5:39).
On the road to Emmaus, He opened up the scriptures to them concerning Himself.
There is no other way to come to the saving knowledge of Yeshua/Jesus and eternal life except by the written Word of God; and there is no other teacher than the Holy Spirit – Ruach HaKodesh, who leads us to all truth.
The very letters of the words
are pictures of who He is and we will examine some of them as they are depicted in the fascinating early Paleo Hebrew Pictograph picture symbols that eventually evolved into the letters we see today.
There are 2 pages, accessed through mmmHomepage, that are dedicated to alef bet; they are in the process of being updated so
for your patience.
תוyאוֹת – otiot – signs, letters.
אוֹת – oth, ot – a sign, letter.
Words are made up of individual letters calledOTIOT אותיות
One letter is called an ot (pronouncedoat); ot means sign.
A number of letters are referred to as otiot;
otiot, of course, means signs
strongs # 226
The word Otiot is Hebrew for sacred signs. (pronounced: oat-ee-oat)
The Hebrew language is a very solid, physical, tangible language; meaning that each word is a description of an action of a person or object.
This is very different to our modern languages that are made up of abstract words. The word righteous is an example of an abstract: in that it has no connection to something physical that can be touched.
The ancient Hebrew language was one based on senses. They thought in agricultural terms and their language was based upon what they could
see, feel, taste, smell,hear or touch;
and all words made from any particular ancient two letter root have a similar meaning.
Hebrew thought is solid, physical and tangible, where as Greek thought is abstract. Abstract thought is the expression of things that cannot be sensed with the 5 senses.
Hebrew thought is circular whereas Greek thought is linear. The Bible was written in Hebrew and is circular in nature – as the end is declared from the beginning.
The concept is also seen in their calendars annual 7 appointed times of the Lord.
Even their Torah Scripture scrolls are rolled..
Look at the word anger as an example of solid vs abstract thought. to a Greek, anger is an abstract concept. To a Hebrew, the word for anger is Awph which means nose. When a person gets angry, the nostrils flare and the breathing gets harder. The Hebrew sees (using senses) anger when a person’s nostrils are flaring.
With this in mind, this is how the pictographic Hebrew works in the word oth which is usually translated as sign, token, mark. It is spelled
alef vav tav.
אוֹת
The Pictographic characters are
We have the alef which stands for the mighty one or Elohim,
the vav indicating a nail
and the tav
which is a picture of a cross.
The tav or cross symbol means mark, sign and covenant; because the sign of the covenant (all covenants are cut) is our mighty one, nailed to a tree or cross.
Messiah said
Also,
The keeping of the Sabbath is said to be a sign – (oth) between God/YHWH (Yahweh) and His people Israel forever.
In the paleo pictograph letters
It is also saying that Messiah is the Master of the Sabbath. (Matt 12:8, Mk 2:28, Luke 6:5) Our Sabbath keeping identifies us as being in a covenant relationship with Him.
The word oath is Alah (ela), which carries the meaning of a binding agreement and a curse for violating it. As the older or stronger ox binds, or yokes himself, to the younger ox to train him, through the covenant with man, God/YHWH binds Himself to us to teach us how to walk.
Next a deeper dig, to look at some Treasure in the Torah of Grace and Mercy Seat.
These words have been much in the text of the last posts, and while mmm is working on more information to add to the Alef Bet Ancient pictograph pages, here is a taste of the riches in this storehouse of the Lord concerning His Living Word who we know as Yeshua/Jesus.
TREASURE – Otsar:
’ō·w·ṣā·r
אוֹצָרֽ
There are at least five different Hebrew words that may be translated into English as treasure.
Each of these has a slightly different meaning. usually we think of treasure as valuable objects such as precious gem stones, gold, or silver kept hidden for security.
Deuteronomy 28:12 has The most frequently used word for treasure where Moses writes:
The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
The Hebrew word Otsar is the word used here for treasure and is most often used with the meaning of a storehousefor treasurerather than the treasure itself, this verse says that the LORD is opening His storehouse of treasure in order to bless His people.
In Proverbs 15:16 Otsar is also used to describe us and our storehouse of treasure:
Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
This scripture indicates that our Otsar could bring us trouble and that we should do well to fear/reverently respect, the LORD and be content with whatever He chooses to grant us from His storehouseof blessing.
What do ancient pictographs reveal to us about this word for treasure?
Otsar is spelled
Aleph Vav Tsade Reysh.
is read from right to left in Hebrew…below in modern hebrew:
and for our ease here it is in
Aleph Vav Tsade Reyshorder
The ancient pictographs forOtsar
Aleph Vav Tsade Reysh
Aleph
is the picture of the
ox and means the strong leader, the first, or God the Father.
Vav
is the picture of the
iron nail or the wooden hook or peg and means to secure, to add, or join two things that are separated from one another.
Tsade
is the picture of the
fishhookand meansto catch, to have a strong desire, or a harvest.
Reysh
is the picture of the
head
and denotes theleader, the master, or the prince.
Ancient pictographs for Otsar reveal that the strong leader, God the Father, is joined to the harvest found in the prince.
The prince is Jesus/Yeshua the Messiah,
the Otsar or treasure is the harvest of the lost for eternity.
Yeshua said
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Another nugget is in the fact that the Vav connects what is on one side of the word to what is on the other.Already revealed is God the Father/the strong leader, who is on one side, but what is on the other side?
The letters Tsade Reysh
Tsade Reysh
form the word sorry
and can be translated
narrow.
Meaning what exactly?
We are sorry when we are reminded that not everyone will choose to be joined to the Father and to be included in His treasure.
The answer is in Matthew 7:14:
In Isaiah 33:6, he writes of Otsar of the LORD: And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.
Out of the treasure, or the Otsar of the Fear of the LORD, will come the source of wisdom and knowledge that will provide stability
Otsarhere again is the wordtreasure,
a 2nd verse connecting Otsar with the fear of the LORD, revealing just how much the Lord values us viewing Him with the awe and respect deserving of His majesty.
Here it is clear that those that choose Him are His treasure, but also part of His Otsar is how He is viewed by those that choose Him.
In Isaiah 33:6
is another word for treasure where the word strength in Hebrew is the word
חֹ֥סֶן (C)hocenḥō·sen
spelled Chet Samech Noon.
Chet
or
is the picture of the fence and means to protect, to separate, a sanctuary, or a private place.
Samech
is the picture of theprop
and means to support and uphold symbolized by the trellis supporting the vines and their fruit.
Noon/Nun
or
is the picture of the fish
and means activity or life
and it’s translated as wealth, riches, strength, and treasure.
The Otsar of the LORD, is that His fear (reverential awe), brings us to a place of trust/faith, where the Father/Avinu and the Prince /Sar, join together for the purpose of the harvest of souls.
If we will just trust in Him, we can be protected, supported, and receive life/chaim.
This is the real treasure,
Otsar –
חֹ֥סֶן (C)hocenḥō·sen
not the physical blessings He showers upon us.
A hidden mystery in the word
TORAH תּוֹרָה to-raw’
meaning:
direction, instruction, law
The Hebrew letters for Torah are
Tav Vav Reysh Hey.
The Torah is the complete instructions, directions and commandments of the covenant law for the nation of Israel.
It is the first 5 books in the Hebrew scriptures. Also sometimes called the Five Books of Moses because it was revealed to him by God on Mount Sinai.
And he wrote there upon the stones a copy of the Law of Moses, which he wrote in the presence of the children of Israel. EX 8: 32
The word Torah first appears is in Gen.26:5 where God/YHWH appears to Abraham and tells him he will be blessed:
Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes and my laws.
That word used here is for laws, is Torah, giving us 2 things.
One, that blessing comes through obedience to Torah, and secondly, that its’ essence existed even before Moses would be born or given the Torah on Sinai’s mountain in the wilderness.
Tav means to seal or to covenant and is a picture of crossed wooden sticks or a cross.
Vavmeans to join together or to bind together and is a picture of a wooden hook or peg or an iron nail.
Reyshis a picture of the head and stands for the leader or the master or the prince.
Hey means to behold or to pay attention to what follows and is a picture of a man looking up.
The letters tell us to
behold
the prince
who is fastened
to a wooden cross.
The word Torah contains a picture of the Messiah who was to come, Yeshua Ha-Mashiach, and shows us that He would die on a cross.
Matthew 5:17, Jesus/Yeshua prophetically declared:
Think not that I come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill.
In John 5:39, he wrote these words of Jesus/Yeshua:
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Here the word scriptures can mean either a book of the Torah, a passage, or a very specific portion. The One who proved Himself to be the Messiah/the Living Word, declared He can be literally found in the written Word.
The Torah testifies to Him in ways only Our Heavenly Father could have planned; as well as Messiahs life and death actually fulfilling the law.
Behold the prince, Yeshua Ha-Mashiach fastened to a cross so that we could be free from the curse of the law of sin and death.
Messiah is found in Torah by Grace.
GRACE

One meaning of Grace is unmerited Favor. Grace is something that is given freely without conditions or obligation by the giver.
The very act of giving grace discloses two fundamental facts:
The first thing it discloses in most cases is a need. The person or persons receiving grace are usually unable to provide what is needed by their own power and receive it freely from another who has the ability to provide what is needed.
The second thing grace discloses is generosity on the part of the giver. He may be giving out of a great abundance and showing favor may cost him little. Or he may be giving all he has, thus enriching another at his own expense.
The ultimate expression of this is God’s Grace extended to sinful man.
The First use of GRACE in Scripture is Genesis 6:8
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord

The Mystery in the
Kapporeth – MERCY SEAT
Do the Hebrew pictographs of Kapporeth describe a hidden mystery that will reveal a connection to Messiah?
Moses, directs his people in an exodus towards the land promised to them in their father Abraham, God/YHVH gives Moses instructions to build Him a special dwelling place. In the book of Exodus 25: 8 and 9 Moses records the words of YHVH:
And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make them.
Additionally,
Moses writes in Ex. 29:45,46:
And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God, and they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.
Even more specific instructions were given for what was to be housed inside this tabernacle.
Ex. 25:10 continues:
And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.
Finally, God/YHVH tells Moses in vs. 21 how the lid on this ark will be crafted:
And thou shall put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.
The words mercy seat are the Hebrew word Kapporeth. This Kapporeth was to be made of pure gold with a cherub of beaten gold mounted on each end facing each other.
What was the purpose of this seat? In Chp. 25:22, God/YHVH tells us:
And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim who are upon the ark of the testimony.
The only time that this commune with God/YHVH would take place, was each year on the fall feast of Israel we call the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, when the High Priest would sprinkle the blood of a lamb on the Kapporeth. This blood sacrifice was offered yearly on this most holy day of the year and was intended to cover the sins of the nation for one more year.
What is the significance of all this?
Can the Hebrew pictographs of Kapporeth give us a clearer understanding?
Kapporeth is spelled
Kaf Pey Reysh Tav.
reading from right to left below
Kaf
is the picture of the hand
and means to cover, to open, or to allow.
Pey
is the picture of the open mouth
and means to speak.
Reysh
is the picture of the
head
and means master or the prince.
Tav
is the picture of crossed wooden sticks
and means a sign, to seal, or to covenant.
The first mystery we can see in these pictographs is that there will be a cover on the mouth of the prince.
But what prince? Surely that would be the prince of the cross which is Yeshua Ha-Mashiach, Jesus the Christ. Why is His mouth covered, what is He not saying? Look below the seat and into the ark itself for the answer.
The first three letters in Kapporeth are the root word Kapher which in conventional Hebrew means to cover. The Kapporeth or mercy seat is not just a place for God/YHVH to meet with the High Priest, it is covering something important.
What is in the Ark of the Covenant? According to Hebrews 9:4, the tabernacle in the temple contained:
Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant.
Although each of these items are symbols of the providential hand of God/YHVH in the lives of His people, they are also reminders of the sin of His people. When YHVH provided manna for food, the people complained it wasn’t enough so He gave them quail.
Aaron’s rod that miraculously budded was a sign that Moses had been given authority from God/YHVH to lead the nation as a shepherd, but the people rejected the leadership of Moses and therefore were also rejecting God/YHVH.
The stone tables or tablets containing the Ten Commandments were the law given to the nation for their instruction and their well-being. But the people again refused to obey and they rebelled against YHVH.
The prince with the covered mouth is Messiah, who by the blood shed on the cross on behalf of His people, has made amends for the sins of His people.
Those sins have not been just covered by His blood sprinkled on the Kapporeth
but have been taken away forever!
The people of God/YHVH no longer need the blood of a lamb once a year on Yom Kippur, for as the writer of Hebrews 10:14;
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Each of the letters in Kapporeth is also a number which will tell us even more about this mystery.
Kaf
is the number 20 and when found throughout scripture refers to redemption.
Pey
is the number 80and stands for a new beginning ordained in heaven.
Reysh
is the number 200and contrasts the insufficiency of man with the sufficiency of God.
Tav
is the number400 and points us to a divinely ordained period of time that will bring about deliverance and renewal.
These numbers combine to paint a wonderful picture for us. God/Elohim has ordained in heaven a plan of redemption for man who could never make amends for his own sin and rebellion.
This plan was found at the perfect time in the Tav, the cross, where Messiah the Prince brought about deliverance and renewal for His people.
Not only will Messiah the Prince not speak against us regarding our sin, but in 1 John 3:1 we see how our Heavenly Father will speak for us:
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.
Mentioned in a previous post but worth reiterating –
The word for Truth is EMeT – אמת,
spelled with the following Hebrew letters,
Aleph א
Mem מ
Tav ת
It’s essentially the title/name for God Aleph-Tav – את,
The beginning and the end letters of the alef bet –
as in the first and the last
the alpha and omega
as we saw at the start of this post.
It is declaring the end from the beginning with a Mem – מ inserted in the middle!
We looked at the ancient pictograph for the first letter of the Alphabet –
ALEPH א – was the Ox-head, and it symbolized the Chief, the Head, the Strength, the Leader of something.
Ideally, it speaks of God as being all of these things – as He is always placed at the place of preeminence and rank of First.
The ancient pictograph for MEM – מ – is the imagery of water flowing.
The ancient pictograph for TAV – ת was that of 2 crossed sticks – a Cross.
Strung together, it appears to form the picture of,
the Ox [with water flowing] from the Cross
As the Gospels indicate, Messiahs’ crucifixion and death portrayed this picture perfectly when the water flowed from His side where the spear pierced His body.
But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and WATER. John 19:34
He who saw it has borne witness – his testimony is TRUE, and he knows that he is telling THE TRUTH – that you also may believe. John 19:35
This was the ultimate manifestation of TRUTH
in ancient Hebrew thought.
Indeed, Yeshua/Jesus reminded us several times when He said I AM the TRUTH [EMeT אמת] John 14:6.
Finally, its good to remember that when the ALEPH א – the Ox – (symbolic of God’s presence in this line of thought)
is REMOVED from the word for TRUTH – ‘EMeT אמת’,
all we have are the letters,
Mem מ
Tav ת
which spells the word
MuT – מת –
this is the Hebrew word for
DEATH.
Clearly meaning that when we remove God from the equation of Truth we are left only with Death.
All the scriptures from Alef to Tav – Genesis to Revelation is truly
He has indeed given us a sign and more than just one!!
