and why the emphasis on Hebrew roots and our Christian/Judeo/Israelite heritage?

By bringing out some of the information on the Hebrew roots of our faith, it’s our goal to help bring a greater understanding of and appreciation for what has been given to believers. The power which we have been given is the power we are all supposed to walk in and how can you do that if you don’t fully understand what you’ve being given nor appreciate what you are reading.

When we don’t have all the facts from which to make a qualified and informed decision, we get a skewed view of reality. When we examine truth from a realigned perspective and when information that has been withheld from us is revealed, our spirits will instinctively perceive its validity and truth.

Whether we like it or not, believe it or not, Christianity has its roots in the Hebrew Scriptures and Jewish writings.

So many words in our English editions of the Bible were translated according to tradition, denominational biases and doctrinal interpretations and not from the original literal meaning.

Hebrew is a very expressive language and the equivalent English words are often inefficient to convey the meanings in the original text and because of this we have lost so much in translation.

The scripture says:

‘For He is our peace, the One who has made both things into one and who has loosed the dividing wall of the fence, cause of the enmity to His flesh, by His nullifying the tradition of the commandments by decrees, so that He could create the two, Jewish and non-Jewish, into one new man, establishing peace. So He could reconcile both in one body to God through the cross, as God killed their enmity by means of Jesus/Yeshua and when He came He proclaimed the good news of peace to you, to those far away, and peace to those near; because through Him we both have the introduction to the Father by means of one spirit. Therefore then, you are no longer aliens and strangers, but you are fellow citizens of the saints and members of the household of God, building upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Messiah Yeshua being His cornerstone in whom the whole building being constructed is being fit together into a holy sanctuary in the Lord, and in whom you are built together into a habitation of God by the spirit.’     Ephesians 2:15 14–22

It is a human failing that we have a tendency to skip over reading the scripture and it is really just an act of disciplining our impatient flesh.

Without the Word of God we would have nothing and no hope, so we need to get into that good habit of reading the actual words of God and not only the words about the word of God.

If you don’t have time for reading His words then its entirely possible that your’e too busy.

The passage above, was written to former heathens and tells us that all are to worship the living God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob the King of the universe, the God who became flesh and walked among us. It is high time that we facilitate the changes in our mindsets and help ease those who are a part of westernised Christianity back into its Hebraic/Jewish roots and to finally recognize that Yeshua/Jesus was born a Hebrew, an Israelite and Jewish and He was directly descended from the Israelites, the 12 sons of Jacob, (i.e. the 12 tribes) He grew up in a Jewish/Hebraic society with Hebrew Jewish traditions and lifestyles which were established thousands of years ago through Abraham and Moses’s teachings and He is the same today as He was then. (Hebrews 13:8.) This does not mean we have to somehow suddenly become Jewish overnight, but we do ourselves a great disservice by not acknowledging that what we profess to believe in, has its foundation in a culture that we are not in any way familiar with.

Now is the time to rectify that situation.

As believers we are all to join together in understanding that all the Scriptures in the whole Bible and understanding who Yeshua was and is, is paramount to a comprehensive understanding of God’s plan of the ages and His ultimate goal for us that we can all be as one. So that He could create the two, Jewish and non-Jewish, into one new man, establishing peace – One New Man. This is not a new concept but has rather been skipped over and lost in time.

Today there are many websites and ministries that are teaching the Hebrew roots concepts and much information is available. In the mid 90’s Mini Manna Moments was first was introduced to the teaching and has not looked back since, although it was not a popular topic back then, it certainly has gained much ground today.

If we truly love him as we profess then we should have a burning desire to know everything about Him and every detail about who He really is.

“And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?” Luke 24:32

So… how much do ‘you’  love him?

Simply try not to harden your heart or close your mind and trust that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory may give unto us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of your understanding being enlightened that you may know what is the hope of His calling and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and you will have Ephesians 1:17–23 operating in your life in all its fullness.

Our goal and aim is to offer small bites of the heavenly manna that we have found along the way and to share some moments that have made not only the scriptures come alive in a vibrant way but have most importantly drawn us closer to the savior of our eternal souls.
