Who Do You Say That I AM – Anochi
Who Do You Say That I AM?
מי אתה אומר שאני
This was the question that Yeshua/Jesus asked His disciples.
He didn’t ask the disciples
who people thought the Son of Man was
out of ignorance or
because He needed to know.
It was a primer for revealing His second question;
which was simply to give each of them an opportunity
to assess the true level of their individual faith.
But you… who do you say that I am?
Matthew 16:15
מי אתה אומר שאני
Parallel accounts are found in
Luke 9:18–20 and Mark 8.
Matthew relates that Peter did more than just identify
Yeshua HaMashiach /Jesus as the Christ/Messiah;
he also proclaimed Yeshua/Jesus’ divine nature:
You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God
Matthew 16:16
Peter answered, ‘God’s Messiah
Upon hearing such a bold response from Peter,
Yeshua/Jesus replied,
Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 16:17
Anochi or Anoki אָנֹכִי
pronounced aw-no-kee’
is the Hebrew of
I AM
and is referring to His essence, it is something that cannot be alluded to by any name or intimation.
The most famous statement ever uttered in all of history
The Ten Sayings/Commandments
begins with this unusual four-letter word:
Anochi.
The word means I, referring to God
I the Lord Your God took you out of Egypt….
Ani
is the common Hebrew pronoun for
I.
Some scholars say that
Anochi
is an acronym for
Ana Nafshi Ketovit Yehovit.
Which simply translated is:
I Myself wrote [these words and] gave [them to you].
In Exodus 3 and you will see the ancient Hebrew form for
“I am” is ehyeh.
In Ancient Hebrew
Future tense and Present tense were IDENTICAL.
Ehyeh is BOTH future and present tense.
Ancient Hebrew did not make a time distinction in its verb “tenses”, but a completion distinction.
An action was either complete or it was not complete.
In Hebrew, traditionally they call the completed aspect
(perfective) “past tense”;
and the not-completed aspect
(imperfective) “present/future tense”;
this is just so English speakers
don’t get too confused by perfective and imperfective.
ehyeh asher ehyeh
for
I am who I am
sometimes you will even find the footnote,
saying
as a alternate translation,
I will be who I will be.
Not to get too technical or hung up on language details…
Here below are some names of
God/YHWH/YHVH/YaHoVeH
in mp4 format
The ancient Hebrews didn’t write the vowels down, so we don’t know for sure, but Jehovah and Yahweh are both guesses at how this was pronounced.
The important thing is they give us a bigger picture of our Heavenly Father, based on characteristics revealed to people through their experiences, they are known as the attributes of God and these ‘Names’ tell us more about Him, describing His divine nature.
In this video they have pronounced the names according to their knowledge or understanding, it has Hebrew (ivrit), English & urdu translation and transliteration.

SAY THE FOLLOWING FROM YOUR HEART RIGHT NOW…
Heavenly Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus/Yeshua asking for forgiveness of my sins for which I am truly sorry. I repent of them all and turn away from my past.
I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus/Yeshua is your Son and that He died on the cross at calvary to pay the price for my sin, so that I might be forgiven and have eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven. Father I believe that Jesus/Yeshua rose from the dead and I ask you to come into my life right now and be my personal Savior and Lord and I will worship you all the days of my life. Because your word is truth I say that I am now forgiven and born again and by faith I am washed clean with the blood of Jesus/Yeshua. Thank you that you have accepted me into your family in Jesus’/Yeshua’s name. Amen.
He Knows Your Name
While preparing this weeks post, Father/Avinu changed the focus and this is what He would say to us today…
It is for those whose hearts are heavy; and for those dealing with circumstances that seem greater than we are able to bear.
He knows we cannot handle life and all its’ challenges without His help, His presence and His intervention.
He has heard the cries and He is bringing His shalom to comfort all our waste places.
Times of testing, trials and tribulation are not a judgment upon us but rather the place where our faith rises to meet His provision, however low the height of our faith His reach never falls short of meeting our needs.
Family/Mishpachah,
we are His Children, 1John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Luke 18:15-17. And they were bringing even their babies to Him so that He would touch them, but when the disciples saw it, they began rebuking them. But Jesus called for them, saying, “Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
John 21:5 Jesus said to them, (His disciples) “Children, do you have any fish?”.
Our Heavenly Father/Avinu is real, Jesus/Yeshua is real.
He lives.
He knows you one by one,
name by name,
wherever you are in the world.
Whatever your situation is,
know that you are better than you think you are.
His goodness is in you!
Especially if there are things in your life
that are very hard; and when
there is physical and emotional pain too,
remember always,
that Our Heavenly Father
and Yeshua/Jesus/ יֵשׁוּעַ love you.
His sheep hear His voice,
and He calls His own sheep by name
and leads them out. John 19:27
4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6 Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.
Yeshua/Jesus knows your name.
We know that He calls the stars by name. Ps 147:4
and the scriptures tell us
He knows the very number of the hairs on our heads. Luke 12:7
He knows our goings out and our comings in. Is. 37:28
He cares for the sparrows, and God Himself says
you are more valuable than many sparrows.
You are of inestimable worth and you are
His delight,
His beloved,
His joy;
and when God looks at you,
He smiles.
He loves you so very much.
He knows the pains and the difficulties we face.
He knows the decisions and disasters that cover our paths.
He knows the rejections and rebuffs we receive,
and He cares about the deep hurts we have known.
This is why He wants us to see Him as our Father, a true loving Father, who cares deeply about what is happening to His children.
We are to cease striving like the world does,
we are to stop trying to make it on our own
and really
surrender ALL to Him
for He cares for us.
That is the child-like faith…
believing He is able,
to take all our cares
when we roll them over onto His shoulders;
and let Him carry them
and us too.
All of us have a name that was given by someone else, usually our parents. Names in the Bible had a great significance and were often prophetic to that individuals life, where the meaning became their destiny in God.
It is not so true today, however the scripture tells us that one day we will be given a new name and that no one but us will know it.
This is significant in that, if you don’t know the name of something/ someone, you cannot have dominion or power over them. So It could be that our new name means that nothing will ever defeat us or have power over us again.
Revelation 2:17 – He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and
a new name
written on the stone
which no one knows but he who receives it.’
If we hold fast to our faith,
if we confess to knowing the Name
of the One who knows our name…
then we trust
that God will carry us through anything. Is. 43:2.
In John 10:14,15
God knows our names
and loves us enough,
not only to know the number of hairs on our head,
but to offer us His only Son.
This is the God who knows us,
the God who calls us by name.
He knows our weakness.
He knows our helpless despair.
He knows our restless misery.
This next week marks the Passover/Pesach season.
As we remember what He did for us…
know that what we may be experiencing is temporary.
God Knows Your Name:
You Belong to Him and He loved you enough to give His life for
YOU
My prayer is that each one would know
‘How deep is the Fathers love is for you.’
His blood paid the price for us to not only be forgiven,
but to be in His eternal presence…
Remember He said through the prophet
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name;
you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1).
That powerful promise confirms that God knows your name!
And Rev. 3:5
and I shall confess
his name
before my Father and before his angels
Below is a song to minister to everyone,
whether you are in a place of great need or not
it’s for a point from which we can place all our focus on Him
and the victory won at Calvary.
Below are some scriptures to aid our quiet times.
I know we love to study and learn of His Word, however spending time in His presence yields far greater treasures. If you are not in a place of great need, then take the time to pray for those who are…we are one family,
one body and when one hurts we all hurt.
Let’s agree together that our Father will keep us and watch over us in our afflictions, that we not despair in situations which seem insurmountable. He can and has always seen us through. Help us to remember Your deliverance when we least deserved it. Thank you Father that the precious Blood of Messiah Jesus/Yeshua cries mercy for us and covers us, protecting us in His Name.
1Cor. 12:26 And whenever one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

And he said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.” But I said, “I have labored in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely my right is with the Lord, and my recompense with my God.” And now the Lord says, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him; and that Israel might be gathered to him— for I am honored in the eyes of the Lord, and my God has become my strength— …

Perfection
תָּמִים.
tamim. taw-meem’
He is your perfection. הוא השלמות שלך.
Strong’s Hebrew: 4359. מִכְלַל (miklal) — completeness
the word ‘TAH-MEEM’ in no way implies ‘perfection’ in the way that we think of ‘perfection’ in the context of our religious ideas.
The Hebrew word that has been translated “perfect” in Gen. 17:1 is pronounced ‘TAH-MEEM’.
Strong’s Hebrew: 8549. תָּמִים (tamim) — complete, sound
without blemish, complete, full, perfect, sincerely ity, sound, without spot, undefiled,
From tamam; entire (literally, figuratively or morally); also (as noun) integrity, truth — without blemish, complete, full, perfect, sincerely (-ity), sound, without spot, undefiled, upright(-ly), whole.
He is our perfect sacrificial lamb.

דוגמה
Being a Jew, his Hebrew name would have been שמעון בן יונה (shimon ben yonah).
The name שמעון (shimon, Strong’s #559) means “heard.”
In Mark 3:16 we are told that Yeshua (Jesus) gives Shimon the name Peter (Petros in Greek), a Greek name that has no equivalency in Hebrew.
However, in John 1:42 we are told that his new name is, according to the Greek, Kephas (Cephas), not Petros (Peter). Kephas is a Greek transliteration of the Aramaic name כאפא (Kepha, pronounced kee-phah) meaning “stone.”
And I tell you, that you are Kepha, and upon this rock (kepha) I will build my assembly. (Matthew 16:18
